Fully-serviced grass and gravel pitch

Liked: Lovely welcome to the site, looks great as you drive in. Very clean and tidy, very well maintained. Nice looking facilities from the outside and the toilets and showers were always clean. Plenty of space on the pitches and a nice bit of space in the middle for children to play. Added benefit of a borrow shop if you forget things for the beach as well as plenty of DVDs and games. Level pitches.

Disliked: The toilets very rarely had any toilet roll in them so we got into the habit of taking our own. The showers were always cold after around 8:30pm over the weekend so I would definitely make sure we have showers earlier if we were to visit again. Didn’t really like having our electric on a pre-paid meter system but I understand why some places do this.

Liked: Friendly greetings. Well kept clan and tidy site.

Disliked: First toilet on entering ladies facilities. Window is frosted, but clear to see when used from outside, even worse when light is on.

Elly on-site touring caravan

Liked: Absolutely lovely campsite with amazing owners/workers had the best time away with by parter and 2 young children aged 5/11, plenty to do in the area such as llangrannog beach, fishing down new quay or crabbing for the kids, cwmtidy beach and plenty of lovely places to eat such as the new inn, the capiatins rendezvous does the absolute best chips so crispy😍😍 and the nearest shop being Londis in brynhoffnant is less than a 5 minute drive stocking absolutely anything you might need for your stay at Brynawelon also stocking lots of local produce like marinaded meats from local butchers, pies and pasties and bread from local bakeries. 10/10 would recommend to anyone thinking of booking this campsite they also have a small on site shop with quite a lot of odds and sodds may you forget anything. A shed full of board games and books for families to enjoy can’t wait to re book!!!!

Disliked: My only downside to this holiday is that the toilet and shower block were a small walk(50yards) away from caravan so I woke a few times in the night needing the toilet and had to walk in the rain. A small downside In my opinion

Liked: The location of Brynawelon caravan and camping park is perfect for discovering Cardigan Bay. The site is beautifully maintained and family run . The welcome we had was wonderful and the owners are always on hand if you have any queries. The shop is perfect and has most things that you’d need and somethings that you didn’t realise that you’d need. We had a wonderful time and are already planning our next trip.

Liked: I’m not normally given to reviews but what a great find! The site is immaculate and within easy reach of everything the west coast has to offer. The whole site is well thought out and the owners are friendly. The toilet block and showers are great. There is even an information centre with a fantastic array of CD’s, DVD’s and games to borrow. The shop sells at least 1 of most things you might need (and many you didn’t think you needed!). If we in the area again we would definitely return.

Local attractions

If you want history with a twist, pay a visit to one of the unusual museums in the area. At the Internal Fire museum, less than five minutes away by car, see one of the oldest working diesel engines in the world. Follow the flock to the National Wool Museum and see the story of wool from fleece to fabric or embrace your inner child at the Museum of Childhood, both 20 minutes from Brynawelon. Experience a statelier time and take in the views of the Ceridigion countryside with a trip on one of the steam trains at Gwili Railway, Teifi Valley Railway or the Vale of Rheidol Railway, all within 45 minutes of the site. When the kids get tired of steam trains and toys (how could they, you ask…), bring them to Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, where they can get up close with friendly farm animals and try to spot dolphins, seals and skylarks in the nature reserve. For an even sweeter experience, buzz on over to the Honey Farm in New Quay – 10 miles from Brynawelon – where you can visit the meadery, see the bees at work and have a seat in the tearoom to taste the end result. Buy honey, mead and beeswax products in the farm shop before you leave.
