  • Small, peaceful eco campsite in the heart of a nature reserve
  • meadow field campsite with woodland kitchen on 40 acre nature reserve
  • quiet family site with stone fire circle and picnic benches
Denmark farm provides space for camping set in a wonderful, wildlife-rich 40-acre nature reserve. The Eco Campsite is situated on a gently sloping meadow next to woodland and, with almost no light pollution, the stars are amazing. Campers have the unique opportunity to share this peaceful place with red kites circling overhead, hares hiding in the undergrowth, dragonflies darting over ponds, hedgerows and woods full of birdsong, and flower-filled meadows. To ensure your stay is relaxing all cars are left in the car park and you walk the level 150 metre tarmac path from the carpark, to the gentle sloping field were you can begin your peaceful stay in our camping area. We have provided large wheelbarrows to transport equipment and the toilets and showers are available 24hrs a day in the main Centre, close to the car park. There are also two compost toilets; one close to the campsite and the other near the car park and various hides and seating areas can be found around the 40 acre site for you to enjoy the tranquillity and nature here at Denmark Farm. There is a small shared Woodland Kitchen next to the campsite, made from sustainably sourced timber, set back within the woodland edge. This is for food preparation and washing up (cold water tap nearby). There is also a Utility Room back by the main centre which includes a freezer, washing machine, drier and sink with hot running water. Guide dogs only are allowed on the Eco campsite to ensure peace and relaxation for all guests and the wildlife.

Local attractions

Denmark Farm is situation at the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains in the heart of the countryside. We are 9 minutes from the pretty market town of Lampeter; 18 minutes to Tregaron, a small town set amongst the hills; 25 minutes to the coastal, multi-coloured fishing town of Aberaeron with a host of small galleries and independent shops; and 36 minutes to the dolphin-spotting harbour town of New Quay; the University town of Aberystwyth is just 44 minutes; and historic town of Cardigan is a 54 minute drive. If nature is your thing, the glorious beaches that create the Cardigan Coast are just a short drive away, with popular National Trust beaches, and the Wales coast path connecting them all. Days can be spent exploring castaway beaches, waterfalls and private bays only accessible via footpath, if you want to get off the beaten track, or maybe you would prefer to join a dolphin tour boat ride off New Quay harbour (which allow dogs on the boat too!). The Cambrian Mountains boast footpaths and mountain trails, the ruined abbey of Strata Florida, the red kite feeding centre, the Magic of Life Butterly House, Cors Caron wetlands and nature reserve, Lampeter Long Woods, Devil's Bridge waterfalls and the steam railway that connects from Devil's Bridge back to Aberystwyth; and Nant yr Arian mountain range with it's footpaths and mountain bike trails is a good day out for those seeking an adrenaline rush! For those interested in local heritage, you can find the National Trust estate, Llanerchaeron with it's grand stately home and extensive, well preserved servants quarters, farmyard, sawmill and watermill site to explore, and you can walk from the old estate station down the reclaimed railway track into Aberaeron. The national wool museum with working looms, shop and cafe is located in a preserved woollen mill locally. Cenarth Falls waterfalls and watermill is located near the pretty town of Newcastle Emlyn, which is a great place to find antiques and also has a small ruined castle of it's own. And did you know that Wales is also famous for it's gold? The UK's only roman gold mine Dolaucothi can be found in the local area. And weather you are into Michelin star dining, organic wholefoods, farm shop cafe's, sustainably sourced local produce, or fish and chips, the local towns have it all.
