Blackberry shepherd's hut

Liked Cabin is in a prime position, private but close to the other site amenities; you get good sun from morning until dusk. Great for couples. Perfect coastal location. The couple who run the site are lovely and very friendly. Cabin and all amenities are well maintained.

Blackberry shepherd's hut

Liked We stayed at the Shepard's hut (blackberry) for several days. It was immaculately clean, with beautiful views, and a calming atmosphere. The location is ideal if you want to explore local towns or go walking the coastal trails. Andrew and Ginnie were brilliant hosts. Ginnie was very knowledgable about the area and Andrew was an amazing hand, always there when we needed him and even gave a lift into town for an evening meal when our taxi failed to pick us up!

Blackberry shepherd's hut

Liked We stayed in the Shepards Hut and wish we had booked for longer, the best sleep we have ever had, so cosy with everything we needed. Log fire and hot tub made it the perfect escape from busy life and the dogs loved it too. Stunning views and lots to do on site and in the area. The most friendly and helpful hosts, so welcoming. We will be definitely coming back time and time again, so pleased we have found this little gem. Can’t wait to stay again, will be recommending to family and friends.

Disliked That we didn’t book a longer stay :(

Local attractions

Stretching along the estuary of the Teifi river, Cardigan (10 minutes’ drive) is worth a visit for its 12th-century castle, lively quayside area and Market Hall, where stalls sell local produce and crafts. On the outskirts of town, Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve is home to otters, herons and seasonal water buffalo. Curious about the lifestyle of prehistoric people? You can learn all about it at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village (10 minutes). Here, occupying a number of reconstructed thatched roundhouses, ‘villagers’ are on hand to illustrate the skills and crafts they would have needed to survive in ancient times. Once upon a time, when they were first erected, the monumental stones at Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber (15 minutes) would have been the supporting structure of an earthen mound. Today, they sit fully exposed in a gently undulating field grazed by sheep. It’s an unassuming location for a pretty imposing sight.
