Local attractions

Ynyslas Nature Reserve and Sand Dunes Approx 5 miles away Ynyslas has three stunning miles of golden beach stretching from Borth in the south to the sand dunes in the north. It is a perfect location for walking, picnics and windsurfing. Home to many rare plants and animals, in the summer the dunes naturally transform into a colourful carpet of wild flowers including many types of orchid. Visitors are allowed to drive onto the sands and park near the visitor centre that has interpretation displays and toilets. A boardwalk through the dunes leads to the stunning beach. The nearby 18 hole golf course is one of the oldest Links courses in Wales. 3 Miles Away Borth Golf Club Set in a spectacular location on the sweep of Cardigan Bay, Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club was established in 1885 and has a strong claim to be the oldest course in Wales. This traditional links course provides a great test of golf all year round, as one would expect of a Golf Union of Wales championship venue. After playing, golfers can sit back and relax in the spacious modern clubhouse where full bar and catering facilities are available. 10 Miles Away Silver Mountain Experience The Black Chasm, Woo Hoo Wood, Miners Trail, and Silver River Water Play are just a few of the experiences on offer at the Silver Mountain Experience. The “topside experience” is a magical world for young children to explore. The Black Chasm (the “underground experience”) is a much more sinister place, where the unexpected happens to those who dare to venture into the darkness. 6 Miles Away Constitution Hill & Cliff Railway Constitution Hill & Cliff Railway is the longest funicular electric cliff railway in Britain, which has been transporting visitors to the summit since opening in 1896. Once at the summit visitors can experience the views afforded by the one of the world’s largest camera obscuras, which offers a bird’s eye view of 1,000 square miles of land and seascape. 6 Miles Away Aberystwyth Castle, Park and Mini Aberystwyth is the principal holiday resort and administrative centre of the west coast of Wales. It is also home to the University of Wales Aberystwyth and the National Library. The town is nestled between three hills and two beaches, and boasts castle ruins, a pier and a harbour. It is now the centre of local rural life and is visited by many to sample the numerous cafes, bars and restaurants.
