Liked: Well appointed cabin with everything we needed to relax after a couple of days on the road with a camper. It was great sleeping in a comfortable bed for a well earned rest. Check in was easy, communication with Mandy and Pete was wonderful. Stunning remote place where we caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights early in the morning. A visit to the Whaligoe steps was also pretty special.

Liked: What can I say other than we obviously left the best to last. This was our last stop off on the NC500 and it was tremendous. The physical location, the accommodation itself, the standard of the accommodation both internally and externally was top notch as were our hosts. I'd go as far as to say the place was perfect and if I have any regrets it is that we didn't book a couple of nights here instead of just the one.
Disliked: There was genuinely nothing I disliked about this accommodation.

Liked: Loved everything about it. The Windy Roost had everything we needed and more! Even salt and pepper, air con and a little fenced garden. So well planned and laid out for the space. Perfectly clean. Very modern. Would have been happy to stay for longer!
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Don't think I can do justice with my review. This is one of places where you need to stop to see it for your self.
The view is amazing and being so close to busy NC500 route it's amazing how relaxed and tranquil you feel at end of your travels.
We stayed for 3 nights and I can't fault anything. We are very picky about beds, and it's hard for us to get good nights sleep somewhere else besides our own bed. Well this time it wasn't the case. We slept like babies and woke up refreshed and ready for next adventures.
The owners have done amazing job with the cabins, they are so comfortable and fully stacked with everything what you need. We are cook from scratch kind of people and all the kitchen equipment suited our needs. The cabins are wonderfully decorated and wind proofed so don't need to be concerned about highland wind getting to you. Peter and Mandy are very knowledgeable about local area, if anyone are stuck and don't know what else to visit. Helped us with our travel, suggested to take a look at something what I couldn't find on the map. Kids loved it.
Checking in and out easy and no fuss. Front of cabin nicely fenced around so your furry friend can have some freedom. Lovely communal fire pit area to enjoy evening. Shops not far as well in Wick.
I could go on and on about The Windy Roost, but like I said before, to actually do the justice need to spend a night or 2 to actually see it and feel it for yourself.
Peter and Mandy should be very proud of what they have created 👏 ❤️ little peace of heaven ❤️ little gem of NC500. We are sad to leave today 😢 but can't stay here for ever.

Liked: Where to start...the accommodation was fantastic, Tranquil with an amazing view. Excellent location, Wick 20 minutes drive for supermarkets. 'John O'Grotes' approx. 45 minutes up the road with other touristy activities' not too far away Small garden to the front, with access to a fire pit front and to the rear of the cabin. Was blessed with the weather which just added to the whole experience being able to get the fire pit going. Pet friendly. Cabin was beautifully furnished, with an added personal touch. Pete and his wife were excellent hosts. Would thoroughly recommended to all, and will definitely be back (-:
