Camping pod (ensuite, hot tub)

Liked: Loved the campsight! It was laid back and quiet with beautiful views, right beside a river. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Beds were super comfy, it was the most relaxing trip. We also saw a beaver sight outside our cabin in the river which made the trip even better

Camping pod (ensuite, hot tub)

Liked: It was great weekend away, just me and young daughter. Was nice having hot tub looking over the river with fire too enjoy evening. Nice wee town. But we spent most time in at our pitch and visit to park just next to reception.

Disliked: Only downside would be nice to have some kitchen/food on site. But plenty places to go nearby and did have hobs and microwave in Glamping Pod. Only thing could do with some new matresses as slightly worn but still useable.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Good morning Linzi c Many thanks for the kind feedback. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us! We are quite fortunate to have the park right next to us as well. Hopefully the food option will be something that will come in time, and we can certainly look into the issue with the mattresses as well. Kind regards, Joe.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (hot tub)

Liked: Very quiet and clean, nice bar. Great to have a hot tub.

Disliked: Very expensive for a hot tub that’s cold. They give you 2 bags of wood which we used to heat it up and even then it wasn’t hot enough. Had to buy more wood for the second day from Aldi as the site wanted a stupid amount for a bag of wood! £200 for 2 nights, they could at least warm the tub for you.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Good morning Steve - thanks for the feedback The element of building your own fire for the wood-fired hot tub adds to the experience of it - I am sorry to hear it was not something you enjoyed. Hopefully we will see you back with us as some point. Many thanks, Joe.

Local attractions

Ah, Perthshire…you could spend weeks here and still have to go back for more. More fishing, great golfing, red squirrels, country parks and historical highlights including Scotland’s oldest library and Iron Age hill forts – all here, along with the essentials of whisky trailing and big city shopping. Nearby Crieff was a wild-west style cattle rustling town in times of yore; it’s tamer these days but thrillseekers can check out the Crieff Hydro Outdoor Activity Centre to whirl around an aerial adventure course on tightropes, ziplines and cargo nets, or get sporty at some of the dozens of indoor and outdoor pursuits here including golf, riding, swimming and football. The centre has a reputation for being particularly sprog-friendly, as does the popular MacRosty Park: there’s a good-sized children’s playground here for all ages, beside a café for tired parents. From MacRosty, set off along the River Earn to see the trees on Lady Mary’s Walk, one of Perthshire’s most popular strolls for its wealth of wildlife and autumnal blaze. Another top tree-based walk – Perthshire is known as Big Tree Country, after all – is around the oldest managed forest in Scotland, Craigvinean, or the Atholl Estate and its wild tree garden, with possibly the biggest Douglas fir you’ll ever see.
