  • Peaceful farm setting with great views and nearby motorway access
  • Five minutes' drive from Cairn Lodge services; Lanark 15 minutes
  • Pretty views over the countryside; shop within half a mile
Collierhall Farm is only about a mile from the M74, making this pretty site in southern Scotland a good spot for overnight layovers as well as longer breaks. The pitches here are well-maintained, level and surrounded by rural views; everything is a short walk from the site's well-maintained toilet, shower and water supply facilities. About five minutes' drive away is Cairn Lodge service station, where a farm shop and restaurant are available for travellers looking for a quick pitstop. There is also the nearby village of Rigside, the centre of which is about half a mile away and which can be reached on foot, where guests have access to a takeaway and convenience store. Lanark, a historic town that's home to the Falls of Clyde rapids and a great UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site, is about 15 minutes from base by road. In addition, you can reach Glasgow in 35 minutes or Edinburgh in an hour via the scenic tourist route. The English border and the northern reaches of Cumbria are an hour away to the south.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to review our site. We are disappointed that you did not have an enjoyable stay. Most people do. It rained heavily for days before your arrival and during your stay so I understand your frustration with the conditions. We hope to see you again sometime when the weather is kinder to us!

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Really liked the camp site and had no problem hooking up and got free Wi-Fi which was an added bonus, everything you need toilets/shower room and they were relly clean and fresh water …

Disliked: The only negative was it rained that heavy that the grass got very slippy and was hard to work on , but obviously they can’t control the weather , maybe could put down some pebbles or slabs which would make it easier to get too toilets…

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: This is the first time I had used this app, it worked perfectly for going to see Harry Styles in Edinburgh. We pitched the tent then went to the concert. The campsite was rustic but as advertised. It was a perfect rock up and leave site.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Quiet site at the rear of farm buildings. No other tents present when we camped. Electric shower was welcomed plus the loo/shower room was large. Good communication from the owners prior to our arrival. Wifi.

Disliked: Very basic campsite. Only the one shower room/loo but think we were the only ones using it as only a couple of motorhomes there at the same time. Didn't see anyone from the farm whilst we were there. Would welcome an honesty shop of some description as we were hiking and not easily able to get supplies.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Its a rather samll couple of fields in a farm / steading, basic but fine.

Disliked: I only saw one toilet which also had the shower in same room so this could lead to queues to use.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: The location of the site was very nice…on a working farm, so loads of coo’s looking over the fence at you. Big Dave was a particularly happy coo. The toilet and shower were clean and very close to hand. The site owner checked in that everything was Ok just after we arrived. Dog friendly.Nice quiet site…..except the squeaky loo door, made me wince when I went to the loo at 3 in the morning :) another good thing was there was no additional charge for using the shower. Almost forgot…free Wi-Fi too !

Disliked: No real dislikes. Just a couple of things that might make it better. Tent pitches could be better designated, we had to ask the people next to us to move their car, so we could fit in. Not an issue as they moved no problem, but if the site was busy it would make it easier. A wee mop in the toilet/shower room would allow everyone to dry the floor after a shower ( that might just be us, but hey) Oh and a wee hot water tap in the bathroom.

From the manager: I’m sorry that our site did not meet your expectations. However I ur listing has full and accurate details of what facilities are and are not available. You are correct though. We are a new site and since we started have added an extra bathroom and laundry facilities. We are also in the process of adding a washing up area. We hope to see you again once it’s completed.
