Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Not Much Good to get to Glasgow City Centre

Disliked: No staff around at all One poor electric shower and one toilet for over 20 pitches. Wi-Fi didn’t work. Tried six times to load password and it still said I had put it in wrong Left early.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are disappointed you don't seem to have enjoyed your time at our site, however glad you liked the location. With regards to your comment about the showers, we have recently had an issue with our Water Heater at our larger shower / toilet block which unfortunately had to be closed during your stay, however we did have another block to use and we also opened the disabled toilet / shower room to provide an additional outlet. I understand fully that it made this block much busier than usual although we did explain this to you in the email sent on the 13/09/24. Staff are onsite Monday to Friday (also advised on all paperwork send from time of booking), your stay was from Sunday till Wednesday, therefore there were staff onsite from Monday at 0800 hours, ground staff, housekeepers, admin and Management all onsite from Monday morning. We would have appreciated you coming to seek assistance with the wi-fi, we would have been more than happy to help you. There is also a contact number to call if you needed a staff member at anytime. We have now had our large toilet block repaired and I hope you will visit us again in the future, hopefully we can change your opinion on our park.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (small)

Liked: Quiet spot to pitch up in Clean and tidy area, away from roads and social spaces

Disliked: One toilet block was out of order, so had to use other (only 1 shower available for all camping/motorhome guests) Directions for camping pitch and parking space were a little confusing!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you found our place peaceful, clean and tidy. We do apologise about the shower block being out of order, it really was out of our control. The other shower block has 2 showers (1 in the male room and 1 in the ladies), we also opened the disabled room where there is an additional shower, so essentially there were 3 in total, still not ideal but the best we could do in the situation. We hope this would not put you off returning to our park. We would love for you to contact us to let us know what was confusing about the directions supplied, we have not been told this before, so would be good to hear your feedback / suggestions.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Beautiful pristine grounds, reception staff lovely and friendly, facilities were clean and tidy, hard standing pitches were big, felt very safe due to electric gate, great location, ten minute walk to train station, 15 minutes on train into Glasgow city centre.

Disliked: Building works ongoing...although I knew this before booking and red deer did tell me well in advance also, didn't stop me from booking there.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (small)

Liked: Location was convenient. Showers were hot.

Disliked: Not a very nice location. Pretty much a building site next to the area I camped in. No specific camping area just patch of grass behind lots of motor homes. Very little space to play ball games / run around with my son. No camp fires. Not really a camping place at all. Photo was mis leading as there was a picnic bench next to the tent - this was only for the motor home spaces.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. However, picnic benches are for the use of everyone, not just motorhomes, so anyone can use these. Photos clearly show there are not specific laid out camping pitches, just a grass area. We also do not advertise that there are facilities on site for kids or for fires.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Felt secure as in gated community. Pretty once in the Village. Lucy who I met and gave me a key for the disabled facilities…Lucy is a credit to the site and the only person we saw worked there in 5 days! She is a credit to your business and the reason for adding stars to my review.

Disliked: Where are your staff?? There is no one cleaning at all, in fact no one but Lucy seen in 5 days? The toilets and showers are disgusting and inadequate. You said this is not your usual standard and you’d investigate to precious reviewers but they are still not nice. They’re dirty and turn off every 10 seconds. One dribbled water and the disabled shower was freezing cold as the boiler was broken…a notice sign before I got naked and wet would have been great…instead I was forced to shower in freezing water when I’m recovering from 2 knee replacements. The alternate was the ladies….awful. Your putting money in to increasing the volume of the campsite, but please invest in the showers and look after vulnerable campers! Your village has the potential to be amazing but we won’t be back. Look after Lucy she’s wonderful!!

From the manager: We apologise about the experience here you have faced. Our toilet and shower blocks are cleaned every day, so we do not know how this has happened and will certainly be investigating this issue. We can only apologise about our broken boiler, our bottom toilet block had been closed off so guests could only use the one that was working, however someone seems to have made the oversight of not informing yourself with our disabled bathroom. We do advertise across all sites that our office is closed on weekends and we can only be reached by phone. However our main office is open Monday to Friday, 9-5. We are sincerely sorry for the issues you have faced and will do our utmost to correct them, with the boiler now already repaired.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

From the manager: thank you for leaving a review. we apologise you feel this way and about the issue you faced with our facilities, as this is not the standard we would expect at any time, and we will do our best to rectify this issue, as this is not acceptable. We do not advertise that there are any games or entertainment on site, and we also do not promote that we are a park aimed for children, although there is a park across from the campsite if children did want to play. we will also take comments regarding price on board. we hope you would still stay with us again and that we could improve your next experience
