Liked Herrlich ruhig am Fuße des Ben Nevis. Es ist einfach, aber alles ist vorhanden. Es gibt Geschirr, Toaster, viele weitere Küchenutensilien und einen Gasherd - alles überdacht.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked They don't allow fires but they have nice kitchens. It's a shame how much wood people burn in most campsites.

hard to find, lady is nice, field is boggy, lots of frogs,no greeting
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked the location (10 mins from ben nevis start point) & the frog i found outside my tent
facilities were clean and in good order
Disliked the postcode plus address provided takes you to a house further up the lane, the campsite is not at all sign posted well, with the sign carved from wood, low to the ground and well camouflaged, and with no clear instructions on our booking let me help you out if u struggle to find the site. from the main road go 400m down the lane and when you see the red barn turn left. ben nevis base camp doesn’t exists on google maps, so try typing in great glens yurts and you will actually find the place. when you do arrive there is no one there to greet you or any kind of information board to explain how the campsite works, ( we have been travelling for 2weeks jumping from site to site & none work like this ) we pitched up feeling like we were committing a crime as we were unsure if we had put our tent in the right place, or were even allowed to put it there at all, as well as if we could drive on the grass. as you arrive there is 4huts that house small kitchen facilities, you would think they are communal however you would be wrong, and with no one there to tell you otherwise you might end up using something that belongs to someone else, or even mistake other guests for the person who is supposed to greet you however these kitchens are actually for those staying in the yurt or shepherds huts. the lady i assume that owns this place came round to everyone in the following morning introducing herself. the first words to us were, “do i need to collect money from you” good morning to u too, & no we booked online, we explained how we didn’t know what was going on here and she explained it like “just a pitch up” okay? however after my friend was confused she allowed us to use one of the kitchens for a short while before more guests showed up, which was much appreciated.
as for price point i may as well have wild camped
if you are not gonna have someone at your site, have an information board that is clear. it is all well and good having cute rustic wooden signs until it’s pissing with rain and you can’t make out “ben nevis basecamp” while your mindlessly driving up and down the same road because the wet wood grain has blended into carving of the words

Fantastic Views, Friendly Hosts and Peaceful setting
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Location and views. The site is rustic with a welcoming feel. The view across to Ben Nevis is amazing. Showers were always hot and they have a little kitchenette which all campers can share.
Will definatley be recommending and a good cost too.
Disliked Not the sites fault, and at the end of the day we also booked for a tranquil setting.... yet...Further out of Fort William than we thought. (4 miles so not walkable) For 3 people, it was 12 pounds (4 each) for either bus or taxi. . Never minded so much, however after our long drive on the Friday and the long climb of the big yan on the Saturday, could have done without. (Not the sites fault either, however the pub up the road asks for 30 pounds per pub meal per person (eye watering)... I get its location however that is ridiculous). Still a great site though so please dont judge by this.

Great location for Ben Nevis CMD, average site at best.
Non-electric grass campervan pitch
Liked Location; great spot.. 5 mins drive to the North Face car park.
Disliked Arrived Friday, no reception of person to speak to, so park where you like (or where you can find).. second night much quieter so had more space and a better pitch for the van.
So so in terms of cleanliness, windows missing from one of the bathrooms, occasional sewage type smell on the site.
