Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely little site, pitches were little plots surrounded by trees. We only stayed one night but would definitely book for longer next time. Shower was INCREDIBLE nice & hot nothing fancy but much nicer than some sites that are freezing when you get out! Man who greeted us was accommodating. Super peaceful site

Non-electric grass tent pitch (solo)

Liked: This is the first time I have stayed here, and check-in was easy (just follow the instructions in the email). I can only comment on the camping side, I was in plot number 72 and it was great as I could park the bike next to the tent with no problems. There is plenty of space between each plot and although the site was busy, I found it peaceful. The facilities were nice and clean.

All-season electric grass pitch

Liked: Gorgeous area, pitch was nicely surrounded by some trees, nice and quiet

Disliked: The guy who seemed to be in charge came across as a bit stand offish, seemed annoyed when I asked for help. Another thing was the toilets are quite far away with no directions and a few times they were in really bad condition, but this is common with campsites. Finally, and this might be my issue, but when I paid for the electrical point I assumed it meant for domestic plugs but instead it was a hook up for caravans, so had to go buy a very expensive one from Halfords - would be nice if they sold/rented them out or at least made it clearer in the description…

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We love The Loft. The setting is amazing and it was great to introduce some friends to it for the first time. The facilities are clean, well kept and convenient. We had a very comfortable stay - and as this is the umpteenth time we’ve visited I can readily say we WILL be back.

Disliked: Nothing to report that was not up to standard - it was all fantastic as always.

Local attractions

Stage your own mock battles at Culloden; the battlefield and a modern visitor centre are half an hour’s drive away. History buffs will also find plenty of castles and moody standing stones to clamber around. Moray’s mild climate and low average rainfall mean there’s a good chance of making the most of the fabulous golf courses, sailing, sandy beaches, forest trails and awesome mountains – you can even take to the slopes during the ski season. Amber nectar aficionados will also be interested in making the rounds of the renowned whisky distilleries nearby: everyone’s heard of Glenmorangie, Glenlivet and Glenfiddich, all easily doable from the site, but with half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries located in the Speyside area of Moray, there’s no shortage of options, including two beauties close by in Forres. If you don't know where to start, or want to get a comprehensive overview, hit the Malt Whisky Trail for a planned route around producers large and small.
