  • Adults-only park with spectacular views over the Firth of Forth
  • Largo Law walks directly from the park; St Andrews a 20-minute drive
  • Fife Coastal Path and the East Neuk fishing villages under 15 minutes
Fancy a foray to Fife? Then find yourself at family-run Forth House Caravan Site with views over the Firth of Forth. This small and scenic spot in a raised valley also looks out over sweeping farmland – see pics – with strolls to set off on nearby via a network of footpaths and country roads. The Largo Law ancient volcano towering above the fields is 20 minutes’ walk to the west, while the Fife Coastal Path passing through the characterful fishing villages of the East Neuk area is under a 15-minute car ride away. If you’ll mostly be driving or taking the bus around the region (a stop’s within walking distance of the park), sights are simple to get to from the main Upper Largo to St Andrews A915 road a few hundred metres away, yet there’s no noise from traffic to be heard from the grounds. As well as being near to St Andrews – the Home of Golf is 20 minutes’ drive away – golf courses are plentiful in the local area, with Charleton’s less than a 10-minute drive away to start off with. A little further on (15 minutes) are watersports on the coast around Elie and horse riding in the rural surrounds of Kilconquhar Castle Estate. Facilities at Forth House Caravan Site include sluices for cassette disposal, a motorhome service point and a heated toilet block with shower facilities. Wifi is also available and dogs are allowed on site.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Site size and layout, everything was easily visable, easy to reach and use. Pitches are spacious and didn't feel crammed in at all.
Site cleanliness, not a bit of rubbish anywhere, neatly trimmed grass and flowers, well maintained road/walk ways. Bathrooms very clean and well stocked. The site gave the feeling of both friendliness and interaction but also that you can have peace and quiet and unwind with the view out over the Firth and less than an hour from Edinburghs park and rides.
Communication and cooperation from the owners was also top notch.
Sheep, horses and cows in neighbouring fields and rabbits running about the site.
For those planning the next days adventures the internet signal is good too.

Disliked: Not a dislike as such, I struggled with the shower but being a bit weak and ether freezing or scolding. My partner had no such troubles and water in everything else I tried was hot and powerful so maybe I got caught out showering late.

Liked: Everything about this place is fabulous, we were met by the warden on arrival and shown to our pitch, fully serviced , large and level…
it is really well maintained, shower /toilet block is spotless , grass is kept immaculate, with a little help from the resident robot mower that kept our dog amused..
It’s a very relaxed site , so well organised , we will definitely be returning …
It’s a fantastic base for travelling the area, the wardens are so friendly and knowledgeable..

Upper Meadow non-electric grass tent pitch (four person)

Liked: Location - Really remote setup, very very peaceful with amazing views down towards Edinburgh. Also close enough to St Andrews (10 miles) to make shopping convenient when required.
Price - While not the cheapest campsite, it's still very affordable.
No-Children policy - This was brilliant. As much as I love my own kid, camping without dozens of kids running around screaming is a real treat :)
Communications - No need to check in on arrival, all pitch allocations and entry instructions are provided via email before arrival.
Comfort - Pitches are well defined and not too close to each other, and the ground is well mowed and flat.

Liked: Excellent well managed site with immaculate facilities and plenty of open space. The 24/7 honesty shop is a great feature and watching that robot mower methodically doing it's thing was amusing. The enhanced wifi system recently installed was a boon when the mist rolled in.

Fully-serviced grass tent pitch

Liked: Lovely peaceful site with stunning views. Toilets and shower block were spotless. The wardens were friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. We had a problem with our electrical hookup and called them to come and check it out. They were there right away and when it turned out the problem was with our own cable they went and found us a spare one of their own for us to use while we were there. Can’t fault the service. Absolutely loved our stay there.

Local attractions

For fishing village explores set off for Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem and St Monans, all less than 25 minutes’ drive away, for colourful cottages with tons of character and easy access to short coastal walks. If a city stroll with a healthy dose of fresh country air appeals, St Andrews has a cathedral and castle to peer at as well as a wide, long beach; this whole eastern coast is in fact full of sandy shores – try Shell Bay a 15-minute drive from the park if the Scottish sun makes an appearance. Further north past St Andrews is another splendid city, Dundee, on the Firth of Tay estuary with a renovated waterfront including a couple of maritime museums as well as a museum introducing visitors to the region’s jute-making history.
