Osprey cabin

Liked: We loved our stay in this cosy cabin! Plenty of space and everything we needed, WiFi, heating, fridge, indoor and outdoor dining space. We particularly enjoyed the fire pit and BBQ. The staff were also very responsive to our needs which we appreciated.

Conic View electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: The site was very quiet and the shower facilities where excellent

Disliked: Seemed to be lots of non campers in and out the site entrance in vans and Lorries during the morning. No care of speed and all playing music so loud you could hear out side

Conic View electric hardstanding and grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: The location was lovely, with an amazing beach with an unbelievable view on the mountains. Very quiet and peaceful place, with all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Some delicious and organic duck eggs can be bought at the reception/shop. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Disliked: The only aspect that I disliked was the bathrooms. Although those had a few showers and toilets available, the place was very dirty in case of mould and smell. Would be great if the bathrooms were deep cleaned(and I mean a proper rub) every few weeks at least.

Electric optional grass tent pitch

Liked: Facilities are well kept and stocked. WiFi works across the pitch as well which is very nice. This is quiet campsite which is exactly what we needed after day of riding motorbike in heavy rain. Very good and friendly communication with the host . Thank you !

Disliked: Grass/soil can be a little soaked after rain. Only mentioned it as we stayed at different campsites everyday and despite others were exposed to the same weather conditions, fields were less soaked.

Local attractions

This is a central base indeed… set your sights on historic Stirling (40 minutes’ drive), a city with historic credentials like a castle, The National Wallace Monument and The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre (45 minutes). The latter is based on a medieval battle location, which some of you might recognise from the film Braveheart. Of course, Glasgow (50 minutes) has more historic attractions, especially museums and impressive architecture. There are shops and theatres for those seeking a simpler kind of entertainment. Those who haven’t already tasted enough whisky in the city bars can pay a visit to the Glengoyne Distillery (20 minutes), which runs tours and tastings (including of their tasty single malt whisky). Perhaps you’re an animal fan too. There are 300-plus creatures at the Blair Drummond Safari Park (35 minutes), including giraffes and lions, and hands-on activities with the farm animals at Briarlands Farm (35 minutes).
