  • A five-minute drive from St Cyrus beach
  • Close to the championship golf course at Carnoustie
  • Landscaped gardens with views of the coast and countryside
Cyrusly, this is a spectacularly scenic site. St Cyrus Park is close to the fab vistas of the north-eastern Scottish coast, 15 minutes' stroll from pebbly Tangleha beach and a five-minute drive to the golden sands, grasslands and towering cliffs of the beach after which it's named. And as it's near St Andrews, golf of the highest order can be found nearby, such as the championship course at Carnoustie; if you think you're quite the tee-er offer, you might want to challenge yourself here. The site is between Aberdeen and the old fishing village of Montrose, and has its accommodation in smart and modern holiday homes, set among prettily landscaped gardens with first-rate views of the Scottish coast and countryside, and designed to be just the ticket for families and for couples looking for a relaxing break.

Local attractions

As it's fantabulous Scotland, quite a bit of history is in the area around St Cyrus Park. The owners particularly recommend Edzell, the red sandstone castle set in green parkland, and the ruined medieval fortress of nearby Dunnottar Castle, high on a clifftop and where the Scottish crown jewels were hidden from one marauding O Cromwell during the English Civil War. Montrose is the nearest town to St Cyrus, so head here for shops, pubs and restaurants along with over 20 public sculptures, a museum and an art gallery. Also get along to Arbroath to the site's south: it's one of Scotland’s bigger fishing ports and is well worth a look for its harbour and its famed Abroath smokie, the smoked haddock produced by over a dozen businesses in the town.
