Purecamping is a family-run eco-campsite set in the small village of Querrin, Co. Clare, overlooking the Shannon Estuary. We are on the south side of the Loop Head Peninsula, designated as a European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) in 2010. Loop Head Lighthouse (open to the public) is only a short drive away, as are the beautiful towns and villages of Kilkee, Carrigaholt and Kilbaha.

We have two donkeys, three dogs, three cats, three hens, and a cockerel living on our small farm in the village of Querrin, which features 10 acres of an emerging native woodland that surrounds an ancient ring fort.

Purecamping gives you, our guests, a pure experience of outdoor life and camping as it should be using sustainable practices such as rainwater harvesting, solar heating and composting toilets.

Our outdoor clay oven and sauna are key features of the site.

Central to our campsite is a 12m geodesic dome providing a communal area for our guests. We have communal fires where you can spend your summer evenings under the stars inside one of our bell tents

We provide a choice of toilet and shower facilities. Hot water to the main block is provided through solar panels and a wood stove. Water for this block is provided by rainwater harvesting and our own well. An additional toilet and shower block featuring compost toilets and solar showers is also provided.

We have an electric car charging point at the campsite, so we are ready for those early adopters.

Yoga classes and massage therapy are available on demand during your stay with us.

Terms and conditions

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the terms and conditions.

Purecamping is a quiet family campsite where people come to get away from it all. We ask that you consider other campers when it comes to late night noise etc.

The geodesic dome is a common space for campers and a wonderful all-weather space for children. It available from 9am to 10pm each day. We ask that parents and children help us to keep it tidy and a pleasant space for all users.

Quiet time is from 11.30pm to 9am. The campsite gate will be closed for vehicular traffic from 11.30pm. If you are taking a taxi home, please ask them to drop you at the top of the road. This will ensure less disruption for sleeping campers.

Alcohol is allowed at Purecamping in moderation.

Drugs are not permitted at Purecamping.

Abusive or aggressive behaviour will result in the termination of your holiday with no refund.

We are an eco-camp site, so we ask that all elements of the environment are considered and protected.

Please think carefully about waste and perhaps offer any leftover food to other campers.

Recycling and composting facilities are available. Please separate your waste.

Please conserve water where possible and use solar showers.

During your stay please feel free to ask us about the green technology that we employ on site.

Wifi is available for your convenience to help you with your holiday plans and email, etc. Purecamping should be an opportunity for adults and children alike to step back from technology and enjoy life. Therefore, we ask that children's online activity should be kept to a minimum and we reserve the right to turn off the wifi access at any time.

Dogs must be kept under control and on leads.

We encourage you to bring your own firewood for campfires but we do have some available on site.
