  • Luxury glamping site by the Agivey river in Garvagh town centre
  • Portrush, Dark Hedges and Coleraine within a half-hour drive
  • Smart wooden lodges each with private hot tub, sauna and firepit
The phrase ‘hidden gem’ can be pretty overused – but in this case it’s very apt, as The Lodges at Garvagh really are tucked away in something of a secret garden area just off the main street in Garvagh town. That location means that you’ll have shops, takeaways and places to eat and drink just a couple of minutes’ walk away – and yet you’ll really feel like you’re in a secluded spot at this Co. Londonderry glamping site on the banks of the Agivey river. Each of the smart wooden lodges here is entirely self contained, with its own shower room and mini kitchen with cooker, fridge, kettle and toaster. Beds (a kingsize bed and a kingsize pull-out sofa bed) are made up for your arrival, and there are plenty of handy things provided including a TV, towels and heating. All of this is fabulous enough, but you’ve not even heard about the real highlight yet – which is surely the private outdoor area, which has a firepit, outdoor seating and a splendid private wood-fired hot tub. Not quite enough outdoor time yet? Head out onto your covered deck, which has comfy seating to relax on, along with a private sauna (thereby presenting the very real possibility of creating your own mini spa experience…) Garvagh’s a handy place to base yourselves for exploration, too – it’s on the A29 running up towards Coleraine and Portrush so you’ll easily be able to get up to either of those, or you may choose to stick more local and get out on the walking/mountain bike trails in Garvagh Forest.
