What customers say
This campsite is praised for its stunning location and spectacular views, with many visitors highlighting its proximity to the beach, local shops, and chip vans. The owner is frequently described as friendly, helpful, and informative. Facilities, including toilets, are generally found to be clean and well-maintained, although some guests noted they are basic and could benefit from upgrades, particularly showers and hot water. While the site offers ample space and a peaceful atmosphere, a few guests mentioned occasional noise and the need for clearer signage for easier location. Planning permission limitations are noted by the manager regarding facility improvements.

Liked The location is amazing and the view is great, good value for money
Disliked It got busy on Saturday and the 2 toilets were always in use and a bit dirty at the end of the day, having more toilets would help when there are a lot of campers

Non-electric grass and gravel tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Location is stunning … right up from the beachfront … sea air & green fields around you … local shop for convenience & cost cutters not to far away .. the village supplies good take out fish & chips & Woodford pizzas … the manager is very pleasant & gave plenty of advice for food & places to go … he was around manning the places regularly
Disliked The facilities are basic but clean … when we arrived … after a very busy Saturday the toilets got messy 😳 … naturally with so many using them .. it’s not a complaint as it’s understandable however, hard to navigate as a woman - won’t go into detail 😆

Non-electric grass and gravel tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Good spacious site, clean and accessible toilets, great wee bistro at other side of nearby campsite!
Disliked No place we could find close to get a drink. Fish & chip van nearby only took cash, and no off-license! Shower was impossible as only one !
Not the easiest place to find, no obvious signage

From the manager: Hello
The shop beside the campsite sold drink. The sold coke-cola Fanta and even iron bru. Something for everyone tastes. Off licence was a five minute drive away in a local cost cutters shop. Plumber let us down with shower. No local plumber wants small jobs as they are all living the high live on what they call the "Dublin rate." As for a sign, I had a large sign but was asked to take it down as I have limited planning on my campsite. The fact the chippy only took cash is totally out of my hands as it's neither owned or run by me.
Kind Regards Folks on the hill campsite
once we located the place it was perfect for us as a campsite.
Non-electric grass and gravel tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Location and views were fantastic. pitches were well arranged and the owner was a lovely chatty chap. overall we were delighted. Awesome views across to the mountains.
Disliked No Clear signage at the entrance, we went past it about 3 times trying to locate the entrance. Had to rely on Google in the end.

We will be back but hope the facilities will be better :)

Liked Gorgeous gorgeous views 😍
Great campsite near the beach, a little shop and chip van. Nice friendly owner who gave lots of information on nearby attractions.
Disliked Only 1 shower and 2 toilets! Over 25 tents pitched when we stayed and the facilities do not match the number of people using them. They were unkempt due to the level of people using them.
More showers needed!
Also the Shepard's hut could do with more sinks and hot water.
This is something that could be easily rectified as it's such a beautiful site.

Great site with clean facilities and decent ground 👌
Non-electric grass and gravel tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Great little campsite! I brought my girlfriend here for her first camping trip, and she absolutely loved it—we’re actually heading back again this weekend 😊. The toilets were clean, and there’s a shop just five minutes from the site. The beach is about the same distance, and if you need to pop into town, Kilkeel and Asda aren’t far either. The views are amazing—ocean on one side and mountains on the other. Just a tip: bring a mallet, as the ground can be pretty hard 😂.
