Electric gravel and earth motorhome pitch

Liked: The peace and tranquility of the site. We watched deer in the field, bird of prey overhead, foxes and rabbits. Although off the beaten track the site was easily accessible in our 6.7m converted lorry, even down narrow lanes. The villages of Wedmore and Mark were only 10 minutes drive away and Cheddar was only 15 minutes and had all you could need including a small supermarket and a revolution launderette. As for value we were only in the area out of necessity for family business and trying to find a site with hardstanding, water, waste and electric in August for less than £40 per night around either Burnham or Weston-Super-Mare is not easy and we though £26.00 was great value. We felt safe and relaxed here and very welcomed by the owner.

Electric gravel and earth motorhome pitch

Liked: Nice views, peaceful and an easy elsan point.

Disliked: The site is uncared for and uneven. I nearly fell in a ditch trying to hook up. There was a dirty glove and a dead mouse by the water hose on one pitch and something equally unsavoury on another. Despite saying to the contrary, there were two commercial vehicles on site, one parked up and one with two guys in it. It didn't feel very safe. A pity as it has a lot of potential. It was definitely way over priced at £26. We had no contact with owner at all.

Liked: Peace full and a easy walk to neatest village 2 miles.. No showers or toilets as discribed don't let this put you off would like to thank owner for a wonderful time.

Disliked: Maybe get vending machine working? Farm products a good idea in machine, nearest shop 2 miles away (just a idea) wasn't sure of how to book in just turned up and plugged in.. Not really a dislike as I wasn't used to this.

Local attractions

Underground rivers, limestone canyons and caves… in Cheddar (15 minutes’ drive), the gorge hike and ancient architecture are likely to impress. Stop by the cheese-making company while you’re there to find out more about the process of making the well-loved cheddar cheese. More caves (and tunnels, museums and a vintage penny arcade) can be found at the gorgeous Wookey Hole (25 minutes), but for a little of the city life, map out the way to Bristol (45 minutes) or Bath (an hour), the first an arts and culture hotspot and the second, the home to Roman baths, impressive architecture and other stunning landmarks. Sea on your mind instead? Jump onto a jet ski in Burnham-on-Sea (20 minutes), explore the dunes at the particularly pretty Brean Down (30 minutes) or try out windsurfing at Weston-super-Mare (30 minutes). With the Mendip Hills for peaceful walks, you might want to call by Wells (30 minutes) to visit its huge cathedral and wind down the pace before you head back to base.
