This is a splendid spot indeed for a Somerset stay, with the Quantock Hills National Landscape on one side, Exmoor National Park on the other and the coast about three miles away to the north. And that means you’ll have easy access to all sorts of excellent days out when you're staying at Kilima Retreats, whether you fancy hill walks, coastal rambles, visits to family attractions or hitting the beach for swims, sandcastles and watersports.
Near the village of Sampford Brett and about a half-hour drive from Taunton, this glamping site is in a peaceful rural spot that lends itself to chilled-out breaks with your partner or family (no dogs though, sorry). It’s only a little way off the A358 though, so you won't have to contend with little winding lanes to get there, or to get out and about.
There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area, but you may find that you’re rather reluctant to leave your accommodation behind. You’ll be staying in a spacious geodesic dome, stretching out to 50 square metres and kitted out with all the comforts of home, including a well-equipped kitchen, a kingsize bed, a flatscreen TV and an ensuite bathroom.
Whether you’re inside the dome or out on the deck, it’s all about soaking up the natural setting here. The dome’s star-view window gives you fantastic views of the countryside by day, and a wonderful chance to look up into the stars after dark (while still staying cosy inside). Outside, there’s a barbecue, a comfy lounging area and – surely the cherry on top of an already-fabulous cake – a six-seater wood-fried hot tub for alfresco bubbles.
