What customers say

This peaceful, spacious campsite offers beautiful rural and distant sea views, with the unique addition of a passing steam train. Guests consistently praise the exceptionally friendly and welcoming hosts, and the immaculate cleanliness of the compost toilets and shower facilities, which did not experience queues despite limited numbers. Many appreciated the freedom to choose their pitch. While some found the site very basic, the idyllic setting, tranquil atmosphere, and proximity to local attractions and beaches were highly valued. A few minor suggestions were made regarding signage and information.

Bell tent

Liked Lovely peaceful site, the bell tent was beautifully presented and really comfortable with an extra bed for our little one. Lisa was there to meet us when we arrived and was really welcoming, gave some great suggestions about the local area. I'd definitely visit again.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked My favourite site Minehead way..safe if travelling alone.
Dog friendly.
I love the views and all the space.
Laidback and helpful owner.
Beautiful farmhouse..
Quiet.
Watching birds of prey and the bats in the evenings.

Disliked Having to go home..went for one night and stayed for 3. Still didn't t want to leave.
No fires, but that's fair enough.

Local attractions

There’s loads for animal-mad families to see: get up close to creepy crawlies and reptiles at Tropiquaria Wildlife Park (10 minutes’ drive) or cuddlier options in the form of rescue dogs at the Golden Retriever Experience (five minutes). Kids can play zookeeper for the day at Exmoor Zoo (50 minutes), or go pony trekking in the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (half an hour). The Quantocks are also riddled with hiking and cycling trails, as is Exmoor – trails start right from Dunster Exmoor National Park Centre (five minutes’ drive), while off-roading bikers can get on the Grabbist Hill and Peaks route at Dunster too. Wimbleball Lake Activity Centre (half an hour) is a hub for dinghy sailing and paddleboarding, with equipment available for hire. Turning north to the coast, stroll down to Blue Anchor beach (10 minutes’ walk), search for fossils on Doniford beach (15 minutes) or have a stroll along the shingle at West Street beach before pottering around the pretty harbour at Watchet (both 10 minutes).
