  • Well-kept and peaceful park with stunning views of Dorset’s coastline
  • Weymouth and Abbotsbury Swannery both 15 minutes’ drive
  • Licensed shop and South West Coast Path access on site
Need a good dose of fresh Dorset air? You'll get exactly that at Sea Barn Farm Camping Park, 15 minutes’ drive from Weymouth – along with spectacular views of Fleet Lagoon, Lyme Bay, Chesil Bank and the Isle of Portland straight from the pitches. In fact, the play area has probably one of the best views along the Dorset coastline – and if you get your timings right of an evening, you’ll hopefully also witness stunning sunsets over the sea. This 11-acre holiday park is part of a beef and cereal farm with land running right down to Fleet Lagoon, an internationally protected nature reserve and wildfowl haven. It’s about 10 minutes’ walk to the lagoon and the South West Coast Path along the specially created farm walk, which passes a wildlife habitat for bees and birds (please keep any dogs on a lead when on the trail) There’s no need to stray very far from home base once you're installed, as Sea Barn Farm has a licensed on-site shop selling groceries, wines, beers, toys, camping gas and hardware. Other handy facilities include a shower and toilet block, as well as covered washing-up sinks and a fully equipped launderette.

What customers say

This campsite offers spectacular views of the coast and a peaceful atmosphere, with many guests praising the cleanliness of the facilities and generous pitch sizes. Some visitors found the older shower block dated and experienced issues with hot water. A recurring theme is the site's strict rules and policies, particularly regarding late arrivals, which some found unwelcoming, although others felt they contributed to a smooth-running site. Customer service experiences varied, with some staff described as friendly and helpful, while others encountered unfriendliness.

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Non-electric grass tent pitch (water view)

Liked The view from our pitch was breathtaking. The site was well kept and the showers and toilets were spotless. The shower block in the lower section away from the entrance was old fashioned but it made me feel nostalgic and I loved that. I loved the place!

Disliked Nothing- I didn’t find the staff a problem at all they were very nice and polite- there are rules but that’s probably why the site runs so smoothly.

Electric grass campervan pitch

Liked A great little, hidden gem with beautiful, breath-taking views.
On arrival documents were easy to obtain and locate our pitch. All information on the site was well explained and very informative .

Disliked Despite the showering/toilet facilities being super clean they were quite dated, however this didn't impact or hinder our stay.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Clean toilets and showers.

Disliked Location, it is not too far to the beach by car (around 20 minutes) but walking distance is far, there is no shops, no bar or anything like that, something what looks like a long beach is actually a lagoon and there's no access to it ( it is only from the other camp site). Before I booked it showed me only 6 pitches for a tent available for the weekend. It is a huge camping site and it was nearly empty for the whole weekend, I don't understand why it shows just a few available. The woman at " reception" had to drop her cigarette to give us directions, unclear and moody😳 but hey, £56 for 2 nights in the middle of nowhere it's a bargain 😅🫢🥴 this place didn't meet my expectations, it should be more information available on the internet about the place, distances to any amenities to give more overlook before someone will pick this place and waits the time over there.

From the manager: So sorry your did not enjoy your stay. Wide open spaces are not for everybody. We think the park description describes what it is. A beautiful place in the countryside with fabulous views and links to beautiful walks. There is no claim that there is a swimming beach, just great views and walk to the coast.

From the manager: Thank you. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Our older block showers, it does take the hot water a while to run though, so needs to run a few seconds before use. The new block the showers are more spacious.

Local attractions

Birdwatchers should keep binoculars to hand when wandering about the site, or you can head for Fleet Lagoon (10 minutes’ walk) to watch the antics of shell ducks, waders, coots and terns while listening to the skylarks in the fields around. Set around a tumbledown medieval monastery, Abbotsbury Swannery (15 minutes’ drive) is famed for its mute swans, with their cygnets hatching during late May and June. There are furry – rather than feathered – friends to be found at Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens (25 minutes) in the shape of donkeys, alpacas and cheeky goats. If the kids haven’t seen enough wildlife by then, no doubt you’ll be heading for Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre (40 minutes) to meet the primates or join keeper talks about chimps and gibbons. Try to squeeze a little culture into your offspring with a tour of Victorian-era Nothe Fort (20 minutes), where you can also take a boat trip around the harbour. If that fails to spark young minds, perhaps the sandy beach and observation wheel at Weymouth (15 minutes) will be more of a hit.
