What customers say

This woodland glade offers a peaceful, secluded, and back-to-basics 'wild camping' experience, ideal for self-sufficient motorhomes. While praised for its tranquility, countryside views, and proximity to local attractions, several visitors found it difficult to locate due to poor signage. Some reviews mention an overgrown state, a smell from the waste disposal point, and a lack of general upkeep. A few felt it was overpriced for the basic facilities offered.

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Another awesome visit to my favourite back to nature woodland site, my 3rd visit. Sounds of bird song and owls hooting in the night🦉
It might be basic but if you’re van is self contained that shouldn’t matter.
A great place to relax

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked I recently stayed at this small woodland campsite and overall had a really positive experience. It’s tucked away and a bit tricky to find at first, but that actually adds to its charm and sense of seclusion—so it didn’t bother me at all.

Booking was straightforward and hassle-free, which made the whole process easy from the start. One of the things I really appreciated was being able to choose your own spot rather than being assigned a pitch. It gave the stay a much more relaxed and personal feel.

Despite being located next to a main road, the site was surprisingly quiet with no noticeable disturbance, which was a pleasant surprise. The pitches were a good size with solid hard standing, making them ideal for off-grid campers who want a simple, no-fuss setup.

Another big plus is the location—just a short drive to some beautiful beaches, which made it perfect for day trips and exploring the area.

All in all, a peaceful, well-laid-out campsite that offers simplicity, flexibility, and great access to the coast. I’d definitely consider staying again.

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Exactly what we wanted, totally full of nature, it was like being in an enchanted wood, clean and tidy , if you are self sufficient it is perfect, you can walk for days and is excellent for dogs
Definitely will return.

Disliked Nothing, could just do with a sign at the entrance as is a bit hard to find, but nothing negative

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Nothing

Disliked Impossible to find, nobody on “site” .
It’s a bit of scrub land on the side of busy road tanks going past ,constant gun firing, planes over head. Not peaceful or pleasant at all. Could find much better layby park ups. Stinks from chemical toilet waist tank really unpleasant! This is not a camping site!! In my opinion shouldn’t be on pitch up! Save your money and don’t bother even for 1 night. I stayed 2 hours & left, paid for 3 nights before going unfortunately.

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Great location - that's it

Disliked Very uneven occasional leaf blower and some hardcore would be perfect to even the slanting and uneven pitches... The sanitation water waste really smelly so stay away from anywhere near it - the breather pipe is ground level -

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked I liked how quiet and secluded the place was. Considering it's right next to a main road, it was a very peaceful place. No much road noise at all.

And with great views of the countryside just the other side of some bushes towards the edge of property boundaries.

Disliked Owners could do with putting more water tap facilities in place and composting toilets. It wouldn't take much effort. They have two log cabins onsite for hire with facilities, so why not the rest of the site?

Also previous people who had stayed, left rubbish in places and beyond the bushes I mentioned was a burnt out vehicle and some old corrugated iron. Not sure if the owner is aware?

Liked Nothing I couldn’t find it as there were no signposts visible and when I called the number on the email from the booking, there wasn’t an answer. Ended up having to find some where else.

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked To be honest non of it.

Disliked Stayed for about 30 mins and decided it was not for us. I’d just as well parked on the side of the road. If you like rubbish old bits of pipe work in the overgrown pitch’s non of which we’re level scrap metal and a lot of road noise then it’s great. I’m no snob and have extensive travel experience in the UK and Europe but this is overpriced and anyone has access to the site . It’s tricky to find if you don’t do your research.

Non-electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Nice idea to camp in Wareham forest but this one disappointed. Overgrown, shabby and neglected space for a small number of motorhomes and 2 basic looking cabins at the entrance. Amenities were a standpipe and a very smelly waste tank.

As a lone female, I did not feel safe.

Disliked For how basic and sad looking it was £17 was a bit steep too.. half this and I may not have had such a gripe.

Local attractions

The twin attractions of Bovington (five minutes’ drive) are likely to feature on the itinerary for many guests here – stop in at The Tank Museum to see armoured vehicles from across the ages, then have a giggle at the apes’ antics at Monkey World. Similarly, it’s pretty much impossible to resist the draw of the Jurassic Coast when staying in this area. Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove (20 minutes) are perhaps the most famous spots, but there are lots of other lovely corners to seek out, and of course some great walks linking them up on the South West Coast Path. For other days out, take your pick from madcap floating obstacles at Dorset Adventure Park, peaceful strolls at the Blue Pool, clambering over the ruins at Corfe Castle (all 15 minutes) or maybe settling on the beach in Studland or Swanage (both 25 minutes).
