This is a popular, back-to-basics campsite with plentiful space and a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors frequently highlight the charm of the passing steam trains and the family-friendly hay bale play area. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are generally praised for their cleanliness. The location is ideal for exploring Swanage and surrounding areas. Liked Lovely quiet location, we loved watching the steam trains go past, and they weren’t too loud so don’t disturb your stay. Lots of room for the kids to play. Toilets and showers were clean too.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Stayed for one night- lovely place , for the first time the pitch was unlimited- amazing, as no boundaries, campfire allowed. Clean facilities, very welcoming owners. Location close to the beach and close for a lovely walk. We had great time and the kids too - enjoyed watching the steam train passing.
Disliked The shower was 20p for 2 min , however there was another facility with free showers , but no light- we had a torch and there was no problem to use it.

Liked Friendly relaxed site. Very chilled. Love we can pick our own spot and get away from others.
Disliked Limited facilities. Only one set of showers/loo/ washing up, for such a big site. Water taps also limited. But the facilities are clean.

Will definitely use Quarr again.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Large field so lots of space between pitches. Adequate washing up, showers and loos. Good to see the kids enjoying playing on the hay bales.
Disliked Lots of the campsite is not flat, so care needed when deciding where to pitch. You may end up walking a long way to the toilet block. Both of these were ok for us, but it’s worth knowing.

Pitches were all on slopes, dirty wash and showers, never again
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Location
Disliked No hot water available, showers were dirty and could not get a full shower as 20 pences ran out quick, even though put lots in the slot. Suppose to be there 5 days, came home after 2 days

Liked Everything. Perfect, back to basics holiday with the family (and pooch!)
No frills, but no frills were needed. Facilities were cleaned regularly and well stocked, showers were available and the hay bales were utilised massively by my kids who spent hours playing on them with new found friends.
Definitely one we would love to return to.
