North Devon here you come… and what an adults-only treat awaits at Cherry Meadow Retreats, five minutes’ drive from Umberleigh in Devon but far, far away from the noise of your busy lives. Surround yourselves with peaceful countryside views and more than a smattering of luxury in well-designed shepherd’s huts where quality is the watchword.
Each of these natty little hideaways is decorated to a high standard, with microwaves, induction hobs and cool boxes in the bespoke kitchens, smart ensuites with electric showers, and cabin beds with stargazing portholes right above your pillows. All bed linens and towels are supplied, there’s room for a fold-down oak table just right for cosy suppers, and the huts are fully insulated, keeping them warm whatever the weather is doing outside.
Talking of outside, each hut has a private garden with a firepit and barbecue, as well as stunning views over wildflower meadows and 60 acres of Devon farm fields where cattle graze. If you want to stretch your legs, you can explore the property’s woodland and follow the trickling stream, or hotfoot it down to the well-known pub in Chittlehampton (15 minutes’ walk).
