What customers say

This well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches and exceptionally clean facilities, including fantastic hot showers. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The location is excellent for exploring local beaches and Braunton village. While most guests had no dislikes, a few minor points were raised regarding shower cubicle size and the need for more recycling bins. Overall, it's a highly recommended site that many visitors intend to return to.

Non-electric grass pitch (basic)

Liked Facilities are great, love that pitches are allocated and very clearly laid out, it is a large site but never feels crowded, close to our favourite beach! Super friendly staff make you feel welcome and are really helpful. The food truck, pizza is also great!

Electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely clean site, large pitches that are nicely separated (ours was in the triangle and we were not on top of each other). Facilities were super clean. Great distance from Saunton and Croyde, we will be back next year.

Non-electric grass pitch (basic)

Liked Campsite, easy to find with directions given ,on arrival went into reception and young lady knew my name as car reg required when booking ,so that makes it very personal ,a nice touch .pitch was on the sheltered side of site ,so wind was not hitting tent so much ,if in middle of field it would been not so good
Pitch was nearly level ,toilet blocks ,showers are free and kept spotlessly clean by staff.
Plenty of water taps and rubbish bins around site and emptied daily.

Disliked One way verchle system. Road system.could do with upgrading as there are holes in rd and where tarmac, it is looking tiered

Non-electric grass pitch (basic)

Liked Location

Disliked Price per night for a really basic sloping pitch
Pitch demarcations are dug ditches, ankle breaking nightmare.
No low level lighting at night for such a busy dense site
Toilets stank, right next to showers.
Bad mannered children with early starts and late nights.
Very long distance from toilets, amenities etc in the night. Need more blocks for such a huge cramped site.
Refused to refund an awning booking when we asked to remove it from our booking, at 12 quid a night. Not apologetic.
It's a moneymaking enterprise, not really an ethos. Maybe just not our type of site. Others probably love such bland and impersonal holidays.

Non-electric grass pitch (basic)

Liked From the moment we arrived, it felt like we were back home. The owners and staff are so lovely and always willing to help, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We felt completely safe leaving our tent and belongings without any worries, which gave us real peace of mind.

Another huge plus was how dog-friendly everyone was — it really put me at ease bringing my two dogs along, and they were made to feel just as welcome as we were.

I’ll always recommend Lobb Field to others — it’s such a wonderful, welcoming place.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Beautiful location
Great facilities, clean toilets and showers
Friendly staff
Well kept site

Disliked Nothing (maybe the shower water was a little hot and the ability to add some cold would be nice, but this is more a personal preference)

Local attractions

The Tarka Trail (20 minutes’ walk) is a 180-mile route inspired by the travels of the famed literary otter. Walk along more than 30 miles of disused railway tracks between Braunton and Meeth, or head to Barnstaple (15 minutes’ drive), where you can hire a bike for faster progress through salt marshes, woodland and riverside meadows. The coastal town of Ilfracombe (20 minutes) is known for four Victorian tunnels leading to sheltered beaches, rugged coves and rockpools. If you’re after a wide expanse of sand, Woolacombe (20 minutes) might be more up your street. Lifeguarded and dog-friendly, this is a popular spot for windsurfing and bodyboarding. There are big cats, wolves and lifesize dinosaur models at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park (half an hour). If you're after more approachable beasties, at the BIG Sheep (half an hour), kids can bottle-feed lambs and meet pygmy goats, rabbits and puppies.
