What customers say

This is a very welcoming, well-maintained campsite with friendly owners. Highlights include fantastic fishing, a wide variety of animals that children love to feed, and a vibrant Saturday night party bus. Facilities are consistently described as clean, with plenty of hot water in the showers. The peaceful, natural setting offers plenty of space for children to explore, and it’s well-located for visiting nearby coastal towns. Highly recommended for families.

From the manager: Are you surprised?
You Left a right mess
extremely noisy
working with noisy hand tools to cut wood late at night
Burnt a large area of grass even though we gave you a off the ground fire pit
Loud music
Even put up a tent you didn’t pay for
Your children left to run wild and left damaged in the entertainment area the dart board now needs replacing because of your lack of supervision
You ruined other campers evening (we had complaints about your group the next day)
We are a quiet family orientated campsite obviously not suitable for yourselves
Rules are there to make sure everyone has a nice experience
You had no respect for others or our site
Great too here you don’t want to come back
Good riddance

We will be going again

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Everything. A lovely little site. Showers are excellent. Toilets are good.
Charging of phones and powerbanks is easy too.
Animals are lovely and feeding time was a hit with our minions and they are 13, 16 & 21! The younger children on site loved it even more.
Didn't actually do any fishing, but it's a nice sheltered lake, with plenty of carp jumping around in it.

Disliked Haviing to come home

Liked We had such a wonderful stay at this family campsite! Everything was perfect – the location, the facilities, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a great place for both kids and adults with plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. There was nothing I didn’t like. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to other families!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The owners are lovely, friendly and helpful. The site is spacious, clean, well kept and good facilities. We stayed on a Saturday as a couple of families with tweens and there were games, music, snacks and pizzas at the fun bus and it was a lovely evening. And in the morning up to feed the animals as well, what a lovely site.
We have stayed before and we will stay again.

Local attractions

A handful of zoo-inspired attractions are within an easy drive of this site if the critters on base have you wanting to amble with more animals. Visit Axe Valley Wildlife Park (15 minutes’ walk) for a glimpse of the meerkats, zebras and flamingos; you’ll also be within spitting distance of Little Orchard Alpacas (five minutes’ drive) from Rhea Farm and Fishery. Kids are generally keen on the zoo at Crealy Theme Park (35 minutes) too, which has 60 attractions, rides and shows as well as countless creatures to gaze at, and a bit of fossil hunting at Charmouth beach (15 minutes) never goes amiss with young geologists in the making. If your tiddlers strive to be spelunkers rather than scientists, perhaps a trip to Beer Quarry Caves (20 minutes) might suit? Amateur anglers, meanwhile, have sea-fishing trips from Lyme Regis (15 minutes) at their fingertips. Travellers with no tiddlers in tow can take full advantage by touring the Lyme Bay Winery (10 minutes) or setting off for boozy lunches in the seaside town of Seaton (15 minutes).
