What customers say
This campsite offers a fantastic location, within easy walking distance to Fowey town and a nearby beach. Visitors frequently praise the friendly and welcoming owners, the abundance of space in the large field, and the peaceful atmosphere. The outdoor shower, though basic, is often highlighted as a positive feature. While generally described as a very basic site, many found it to be good value for money. However, opinions on the toilet facilities are mixed, with some describing them as basic and others as unclean. The site is noted as being on a slope in places.

Great location, basic facilities, very steep in places.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Great location, close to the coast path and town centre. Just a field with some very basic facilities. That’s what I was expecting so no problem with that.
Disliked There are very few level pitches. Much of the field is so steep it’s pretty much unusable.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Nice walk to the beach (10 minutes)
Really large field. We stayed the last weekend in July and only 3 other groups there so we had LOADS of space
Disliked Not a proper shower cubicle and the curtain was gappy so every time I walked passed I had to avert my eyes!
Although, looks like they’re possibly building a new toilet/shower block

Liked Location
Disliked Absolutely vile toilets that were overflowing and not emptied! Complained to site owner but he didn’t seem to care and blamed it on ‘not being able to get hold of the company who own the toilets to empty them’! The shower was also terrible. The tarpaulin curtain did not close fully and there was no where dry to leave your stuff when it rained (there is no roof). There was a dry bag but it was wetter in the inside than it was out. Everyone left early because of the disgusting toilets. This place might be ok early in the season when emptying might occur more often but it was so much of a health hazard that I vomited because of the smell.

From the manager: Dear Kirsty
My apologies for your bad experience with our toilets. They are cleaned twice daily and there is no excuse other than we underestimated how busy the site would become over the bank holiday weekend. Its our first year and we will strive to better ourselves going forward. As for the shower, we think and have been comended for its originality, power, heat, quirky feel and look! As for your clothes, we as you stated supply a very large 'dry bag' so that they stay dry while you shower, we surely can not be blamed when inconsiderate people leave it open to the elements.
John
