Dog-friendly glamping

  • Glampsite 10 minutes’ drive from the North York Moors National Park
  • The Cleveland Way 10 minutes’ drive; Scarborough beaches 15 minutes
  • Cosy heated wooden pods in the grounds of a traditional country pub
Prepare yourself for a fabulous family holiday at The Falcon Inn, 15 minutes’ drive from the beaches of the North Yorkshire coastline (Robin Hood’s Bay to the north and Scarborough to the south). Set in peaceful woodland and reached by a level path that’s floodlit at night, accommodation here is in comfy wooden glamping pods, all lockable for complete security. Each pod sleeps up to four people and has its own electricity, heating and lighting facilities. Fitted with sustainable sheep-wool insulation, the pods are all exceptionally warm and cosy – which is just what’s needed on a windy Yorkshire day. Every pod also has its own decking area for alfresco dining or relaxing, and they are nicely spaced from their immediate neighbours for privacy. You’re never too far from a home-cooked meal or a pint of Yorkshire ale either, as this site is in the grounds of a cosy country pub with a menu of classic pub dishes as well as local drinks. If you’re in need of supplies for your barbecue, the nearest shops are in Scarborough (15 minutes), where there are also heaps of restaurants, plus family amusement parks and an open-air theatre. The walking and cycling routes of the North York Moors National Park are but 10 minutes’ drive away.

Camping pod (double, no pets)

Liked Perfect location between Whitby and Scarborough. Really classy place and the bed was very comfortable. Everything I was hoping for.

Disliked Maybe could do with a WiFi Extender to cover the Pod Village. My girlfriend missed having internet access in the pod but I'm nitpicking here, it was good WiFi in the pub it just didn't quite reach the pod.

Camping pod (five person, no pets)

Liked Everything! We loved the surroundings, clean facilities such as shower and toilets and location. Staff were very friendly and helpful too. It has good access to both Robin hood's bay and Scarborough. Our 8 year old boy loved it so much. We'd definitely come again.

Camping pod (no pets, twin)

Liked I have just had a weekend here with my teen son. In the Twin pods, there is 2 beds and a small table with a kettle, 2 mugs and a couple of teabags and so on. It's just short of a small fridge to store your milk, butter and meat that you take for your disposable BBQ insted of the table & 2 small towels and 2 big towels for the shower.
You do it Free WiFi although it is a bit hit and miss.

Disliked Walking to the toilet block is quite dark, so you need a small torch also the toilet roll runs out a lot.

Camping pod (double, no pets)

Liked Quiet location - so peaceful
The pub food was incredible- and large portions!
Super clean - pod, bedding, showers!
I have had worse shower facilities in a Spa!
Such a comfy bed
All amenieties you would need close by
Friendly staff!
Great location for Scarborough or Whitby
Wifi reached the huts!!
Power supply in the huts
BRILLIANT ammount of tea and coffee - not just one mug each enough for multiple brews!

Disliked The small window at the back of the hut had nothing to cover it, was very bright and wide awake at 6:30am

No shower gel in the showers

Camping pod (four person, no pets)

Liked Situated near a main road, however you couldn’t hear the traffic going past.
Lovely quiet site, with plenty room outside to roam. The pod had everything it needed such as towels, kettle, a selection of tea, coffee and milk. With a lovely country pub on site! And a park for the children. You could book to have breakfast in the pub, consisted of continental style bakes and cereals along with a cooked breakfast to se you up for the day!

Disliked Nothing but good!
I would say it would be helpful to have the WiFi code in the pods and a little guidance on pub opening times throughout the week.

Local attractions

The region’s rugged coastline rewards exploration with splendid sights such as the Hayburn Wyke Waterfall (10 minutes’ drive), which flows onto a secluded pebble beach surrounded by lush vegetation. From Hayburn Wyke, it’s possible to join the long-distance Cleveland Way all the way to Scarborough or Ravenscar. When in Scarborough (15 minutes), grab some fish and chips to devour on the sandy beach, check out the events at Scarborough Spa (which range from musicals and tribute shows to stand-up comedy and grown-up discos), or learn about the area’s heritage at the Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre. The seaside town of Whitby (20 minutes) is dominated by the imposing remains of Whitby Abbey, which is said to have inspired Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’. From there, head down into town via the 199 Steps, then cross the River Esk and take a picture of the abbey ruins framed by the Whalebone Arch.
