What customers say

This is a peaceful, adult-only campsite with spacious, level pitches. Facilities are generally clean and well-maintained, with many visitors praising the hot showers and the site's quiet atmosphere. Its location is convenient for exploring local attractions and pubs. Some guests noted limited toilet and shower facilities, and minor issues with electric hook-ups, though the site appears to be undergoing improvements.

Liked Beautiful site, Facilities adequate including lovely hot water, great location

Disliked Would have liked a bit of a personal touch for check in or touch base. Didn't see anybody from the site during our stay , just name on a board telling us where to pitch

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Large open level field, great wide life around. Good access to Richmond and surrounding areas. Hook up worked no issues.

Disliked Pricey at £30 per night, road noise from major buildings work just up the road. Faculties ok but basic, expect more for the price. No reception or contact with site owners, just a car checking each day.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Our site and facilities are clearly shown on PitchUp for you to make an informed choice before you make your booking it also states that we do not have a reception, so not sure how you can dislike us not having a reception. :-@

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Location good, pitches were spacious, we opted for grass/ gravel pitch with electric hook up and water point included.

Nice walk to 2 local pubs one 10 minute walk other 15/20 minute walk.
We used the local bus to visit Richmond for the day.

I know there has been some bad reviews on the toilets.
But we had no issues at all both with toilet/ shower blocks either side of the park where clean.

Would visit again.

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked An excellent site all round! Very well kept, with clean amenities, showers, and toilets. Although the site is not manned, names are listed on the board when you arrive and all the pitches are clearly marked. The owner kindly popped by during our visit to check everything was okay, and there’s number available if you need anything during your stay. It’s just a short walk to the local shop and pub too & the views are fantastic. We will definitely be returning!

Local attractions

Stroll directly from your pitch to the spectacular hilltop ruins of 12th-century Easby Abbey (40 minutes’ walk), or have a ramble along the River Swale to Richmond Castle and the pebble beach at Richmond Falls (both roughly an hour). And of course, there are hikes and cycle rides for all levels of ability in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (15 minutes’ drive). Head to Foxglove Covert Local Nature Reserve (20 minutes) for the chance to spy birds of prey and kingfishers in the moorland, meadow and wetland habitats, or if stately houses are on your agenda, combine exploring formal gardens and a lakeside park at Jacobean-era Kiplin Hall (10 minutes) with a tour of the mansion’s richly decorated rooms. The likelihood is you’ll adore fussing over the camels, llamas and ostriches at Mainsgill Farm Shop (15 minutes), where you can also tuck into a tasty cream tea. Should the weather turn against you, book tickets for blockbuster films at The Station or tour Richmond’s restored Georgian Theatre Royal (both 10 minutes), still with its original stage and seating.
