Local attractions

You will be staying at Arkle Moor Riding Centre one of only two trekking centers in the entire YDNP with access to 100s of miles of bridleways and footpaths making us the ideal place for your adventures to be based from, whether that's on horse back, cycling or walking. We are located a 40 minute walk from the picturesque village of Reeth, which has 3 pubs, a well stocked shop, post office, ice cream parlor, tea rooms, and lots more. The market towns of Richmond and Leyburn are a scenic 30 minute drive away. We are a 30 minute walk from the fabulous Charles Bathurst Inn serving amazing food or why not visit Britain's highest Pub -the world famous Tan Hill Inn, a short 19 minute drive to the most Northern part of Arkengarthdale. E-Bikes and mountain bikes can be hired from the Dales Bike Centre only a stones through away from the Swale Trail. If history is what you'd like to experience, we are in the heart of long since gone industrial lead mining industry, remains of which scatter the surrounding landscape. Castle Bolton is a short 20 minute drive giving you the opportunity to take in some breath taking views of Arkengarthdale, Swaledale and Wensleydale. If James Herriot country is your scene, we are located right at the heart of where filming took place of the original All Creatures Great and Small television series. Ideally located for many local sporting events and summer shows for example Ard Rock Festival, Swaledale Festival, Swaledale Marathon, Reeth Show and many more
