  • Peaceful North Yorkshire park 10 minutes' drive from Knaresborough
  • Harrogate and Fountains Abbey 20 minutes' drive; York 40 minutes
  • Family-run park with spacious pitches, play area and dog walk
Make Kingfisher Holiday Park your base and you’ll be very well placed for all sorts of North Yorkshire days out. This family-friendly site is in a peaceful countryside location about 10 minutes’ drive from the market town of Knaresborough, putting you in a handy spot for rural pursuits, town time and major attractions. Knaresborough is a handy source of shops and places to eat, and the historic town is also home to a castle, a museum, riverside walks and the intriguing Mother Shipton’s Cave. Harrogate (20 minutes’ drive) and York (40 minutes) are other great options for urban wanders – and they can both be reached by train or bus too. Meanwhile, the Nidderdale National Landscape is also close by for scenic walks and attractions like Fountains Abbey. The family-run park is also a family-friendly spot, with a play area and a dog walk area (you’ll just need to keep your dog on a short lead here); there are plenty more places to get out for a walk nearby too, including a local nature reserve with ponds. Pitches are all nicely spacious and have electric connections; shared facilities include a launderette, a washing-up area and a well-equipped bathroom block.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained and clean site with spacious pitches and friendly staff, praised for its scenic dog walks and proximity to Knaresborough. However, multiple guests noted issues with limited phone signal and Wi-Fi, and some found the toilet and shower facilities to be inadequate in number and cleanliness, particularly during busy periods. The lack of an on-site shop was also mentioned. Play areas are available for children.

Large electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Nice clean site, with nice lake area you can walk around.

Disliked This is just my opinion, but there was only one area to get water & waste area.
Only 2 showers in wash area & for the size of the site.
Play area was more suited for smaller children.
I maybe should think about putting a little shop on site for essentials, as there is no shop in the area, so you have to go into Knaresborough, if you need anything.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Great location to other towns and villages, quick and easy check in along with easy access in and out of the park. Lovely facilities.

Disliked Suggest not to place groups of campers next to others when the whole field is available, parents not keeping there children under control and running through our tent and car, very noisy, again parents unable to keep the children quiet.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The caravan/ camping park itself is well maintained and clean, there is a play park there but I would say it’s for ages 5 and under.

Disliked You get very little signal on the park which was a major issue when going with children. The park was too small for them but played in it as there was nothing much to do. Personally camping here I think this is over priced compared to other campsites I’ve been too. There is no facilities or anything on site if your wanting a campsite to go for walks or sit and read and relax then this one is definitely for you.
