  • Peaceful North Yorkshire park 10 minutes' drive from Knaresborough
  • Harrogate and Fountains Abbey 20 minutes' drive; York 40 minutes
  • Family-run park with spacious pitches, play area and dog walk
Make Kingfisher Holiday Park your base and you’ll be very well placed for all sorts of North Yorkshire days out. This family-friendly site is in a peaceful countryside location about 10 minutes’ drive from the market town of Knaresborough, putting you in a handy spot for rural pursuits, town time and major attractions. Knaresborough is a handy source of shops and places to eat, and the historic town is also home to a castle, a museum, riverside walks and the intriguing Mother Shipton’s Cave. Harrogate (20 minutes’ drive) and York (40 minutes) are other great options for urban wanders – and they can both be reached by train or bus too. Meanwhile, the Nidderdale National Landscape is also close by for scenic walks and attractions like Fountains Abbey. The family-run park is also a family-friendly spot, with a play area and a dog walk area (you’ll just need to keep your dog on a short lead here); there are plenty more places to get out for a walk nearby too, including a local nature reserve with ponds. Pitches are all nicely spacious and have electric connections; shared facilities include a launderette, a washing-up area and a well-equipped bathroom block.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained, clean, and peaceful site with flat, spacious pitches and lovely lake walks, ideal for dog owners. The location is praised for its proximity to Harrogate and Knaresborough. However, some guests found the toilet and shower facilities inadequate and sometimes dirty, particularly during busy periods. Issues with poor phone signal and Wi-Fi were also noted.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We had a fab stay got to choose our own spot plenty of space for my son who loves football also we were on the park were my kids could just go off and play without any worries and had a lovely walk around the lakes.

Disliked Toilets could of being a bit cleaner as I had to wipe off the cobwebs around the window and clean down the shower before my daughter would use it.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The staff on arrival were very friendly and welcoming! Our electric pitch was in the field with the kids play park, perfect for us as a family! It meant the kids could play to their hearts content and be within eyesight! All the other campers were friendly and considerate regarding noise on an evening. Always a win when you've got children to get to sleep at a reasonable time. The showers were HOT! Which I personally loved, but my daughter didn't at first, so enter with caution! The shared facilities were always well maintained and clean. My two main things I look for when booking are decent toilets/showers and something for the kids e.g a park. This location has both! Highly reccomended and would stay again when wanting to venture nearby!

Disliked Please note, these are minor!
When we arrived and was given a map & directions on where to pitch, we found that someone else was in what appeared to be our spot so we ended up being central in the field whilst everyone else occupied the sides. Would have been helpful to have been guided to the pitch or some markings/posts with pitch numbers. There were only 2 showers in the female toilet block next the field, one of which was smaller. This sometimes resulted in a bit of a wait! Not always ideal with small kids. Otherwise no other complaints!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Quiet park, well maintained lake and park area. Staff were really helpful and polite!

Disliked Mainly static caravans, although that may have just been where we were placed! The only issue with it being mainly static caravans was that some of them were kept in quite untidy/unkempt condition with lots of things around the pitches of the vans. Toilet and shower facilities were always quite dirty, not terrible but definitely not comfortably clean.
