  • Peaceful North Yorkshire park 10 minutes' drive from Knaresborough
  • Harrogate and Fountains Abbey 20 minutes' drive; York 40 minutes
  • Family-run park with spacious pitches, play area and dog walk
Make Kingfisher Holiday Park your base and you’ll be very well placed for all sorts of North Yorkshire days out. This family-friendly site is in a peaceful countryside location about 10 minutes’ drive from the market town of Knaresborough, putting you in a handy spot for rural pursuits, town time and major attractions. Knaresborough is a handy source of shops and places to eat, and the historic town is also home to a castle, a museum, riverside walks and the intriguing Mother Shipton’s Cave. Harrogate (20 minutes’ drive) and York (40 minutes) are other great options for urban wanders – and they can both be reached by train or bus too. Meanwhile, the Nidderdale National Landscape is also close by for scenic walks and attractions like Fountains Abbey. The family-run park is also a family-friendly spot, with a play area and a dog walk area (you’ll just need to keep your dog on a short lead here); there are plenty more places to get out for a walk nearby too, including a local nature reserve with ponds. Pitches are all nicely spacious and have electric connections; shared facilities include a launderette, a washing-up area and a well-equipped bathroom block.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained, clean, and peaceful site with spacious pitches and a lovely natural setting, particularly praised for its great play area and proximity to local attractions. Staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful. However, some visitors reported issues with dated or insufficient toilet and shower facilities, occasional cleanliness concerns, and a lack of on-site amenities like a shop. Limited phone signal and Wi-Fi were also noted.

Large electric grass touring pitch

Liked Good location

Disliked The original hard standing pitch we were allocated was more like a crater than a pitch, the second grass spot we were told to use was allocated, and then they struggled to find anywhere due to the site being full, despite it being half empty for the entirety of our stay.

The toilets were cleaned once or twice in six days and were disgusting.

There was major activity building work going on in peak season.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Location of tent pitch 11 and 12 were close to the park so were able to keep an eye on kids

Disliked Toilets were not cleaned properly from arriving Friday until Monday morning, static owners opposite reception shouting “slow down” quite aggressively when passing their decking even though I was going 5mph they have a sign about dust on their fence!!! Could do with either small shop or reception having fridge with milk, cold drinks or somewhere for campers to re freeze ice bricks. Also WiFi no existent even with your booking ref code

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Really nice stay, very tidy site. Shower and toilet blocks clean and fresh. Great child’s play area. Friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked WiFi was intermittent at best, but can see the site has tried to fit a good system. WiFi needed as phone reception is poor. No 4g.
Didn’t really matter to us as we were trying to escape technology for a few days, but couple of times could have done with access.
I only put this in case some who is needing internet stays.
