  • Well-maintained family-owned park on a working farm
  • 15 minutes' drive to Pickering and a short walk to Hutton-le-Hole
  • Luxury heated shower and toilet facilities in a walkers' paradise
How does a hillside setting among the highly scenic North York Moors sound for a holiday? Just fab? Make with haste to the farm site of Hutton Le Hole Caravan Park in the North York Moors National Park, a short walk down the hill from the village of Hutton-le-Hole, and among spectacular scenery in a walkers' paradise. You're within driving distance of several famed North Yorkshire locations from here – York, Whitby and Scarborough are all 50 to 55 minutes away – or you could opt to stay close to home instead, for farm-based and moor-based walks, steaming around on vintage railways, and investigating Yorkshire's old and grand homes such as Castle Howard, half an hour from the farm. (Or just munch your way around instead: market towns like Pickering and Kirkbymoorside are close by, along with farm shops, tearooms and eateries of all sorts.) The park is on a working family farm, a short downhill walk from Hutton-le-Hole village, and has a dog-walking area and a farm walk to potter around. It's a level and free-draining site, with plentiful drinking water points around the grounds and with excellent amenities including a utility room with laundry, fridge/ freezer and microwave, and a luxury heated amenities block with family rooms and hot showers. For the safety of all guests (and the grass and nearby crops), large barbecues, firepits and naked flames aren't allowed on site. Small controlled barbecues are fine, but you'll need to be responsible and make sure they don't burn the grass, trees or hedges.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Very nice, quiet and clean place. Very rural and peaceful. A nice place to relax, enjoy walks, rides and peace and quiet.

Disliked No Ev charging

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of your stay on our site. We are so pleased liked our site and you found the lovely walks from site, enjoying the peace and quiet the National Park offers.
We had hoped that the EV charging points in the nearby National Park car park would suffice, saving us the need to designate an area with a charger and setting up payment methods etc. The site electric is too low an ampage to allow vehicle charging from your pitch. It is something we will need to look at this season and upgrade if necessary. Thanks for letting us know it's something you would like.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Absolutely loved the peace and quiet. Waking up to bird song in the morning, the occasional pheasant was absolutely delightful. Its a Beautiful site, well kept lawns and beautiful flowers. Really clean facilities. The hosts had great customer service, and could not be any more kind and helpful. There are lovely dog walks from the doorstep, there is a farm walk around the edge of the farm fields, as well as a walk into the local village! Which has an excellent cafe and pub!!

Disliked There was nothing to dislike - we booked to stay again before leaving!

Liked What a beautiful site. Immaculate! Warm and lovely showers and toilets. Great spot next to a lovely little village with cafes and the wonderful Rydale Folk museum. The children loved visiting here! The staff were kind and helpful and there was also a brilliant farm walk on site. We will definitely be back. X

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Very warm welcome and useful suggestions for walks and pub. Super clean and warm facilities. Even a place I could plug in my electric hot plate to cook and wash up indoors. Beautiful walk around the farm lands and views out over Hutton Le Hole. The surrounding countryside was absolutely stunning!

From the manager: Thanks for leaving a review of your stay on one of our hardstanding pitches. Surrounded by grass they are the best of both options! A fairly level well drained site does mean that grass manages really well but if you prefer hard standing - we've got you covered!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We loved this campsite. Beautiful location, nice quiet site and the staff were very friendly and informative. You can walk from the site into the village where we visited the Ryedale Folk Museum which was SO worth the visit, we really enjoyed it and for £10.50 per person an absolute bargain, and dog friendly too (no extra charge for the pooch)! The museum also gives you a discount card that can be used in the local cafes which we thought was a nice gesture as they don’t have an onsite eatery. There is also a pub in the village serving food. We also took advantage of the farm walk from the campsite and we highly recommend it, the views were amazing! The facilities were exceptionally clean and lovely and warm. We had a hard standing electric pitch which was a really good size and the free WiFi we found more than adequate for phone service. If you are thinking of booking DO IT! Thank you Hutton-Le-Hole Caravan Park, for 2 very peaceful nights sleep, we will definitely return in the future!

Local attractions

The park is well set for the North York Moors National Park and its many attractions, or for free range wandering around the area's market towns, garden centres and farm shops. Two fab family options are a short drive away: the theme park and the UK's most visited zoo of Flamingo Land, within 20 minutes, and spectacularly scenic rides on the North York Moors Railway, starting at Pickering 15 minutes' drive from the farm. The railway winds up at Whitby, another fab option for families, sand seekers and vampire hunters. Some stunning walks are around if you're here to hike, such as the 109-mile Cleveland Way starting at Helmsley (15 minutes' drive) to run all the way to the coast at Saltburn. For a fully coastal walk, you could also tackle the Wolds Way, starting at Hessle about an hour and a half's drive south, to end up at Filey on a 79-mile route. Other local options include Ryedale Folk Museum, a mile and a half away, the local lavender farms, and a look at the scented trade at Yorkshire Lavender at Terrington and Wolds Way Lavender in Wintringham, both within 35 minutes' drive.
