Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great campsite , close to Saltburn , Guisbrough town and Staithes . Kids had great time on local walks and on play park.

Disliked Dogs have seemed to be given free rein by other campers. Pitch one where I was camping some dog had left two fresh poos right next to the tent they were right next to the tent lines and could have easily stepped in. Not great , spoilt by others campers standards.

Electric grass and earth campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked The spacious & level plots, the location, the facilities were clean & modern. Really lovely site well looked after, would return. A park for my son.

Disliked Site says no bbq or fire but we saw others having bbqs

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: thanks for the review, we dont allow barbeqes fires or fire pits for a no of reasons ,,last season was horrendous with people having fires everywhere and scorching the grass across the site, they were even burning my larch boards which were for the lofges ,then our insurance company advised us not to have them because we could not afford the premiem ,and for safety reasons advised us to ban them, then we had a visit from the fire brigade who told us not to have fires barbies etc because we are in a countryside setting and it wold be irresponsible to have fires on our site ,especially with the dry spell we are having ,so we took the decision to ban them ,if people were having them we didnt see them or we would of asked them toput them out and leave i hope this clarifys your issues.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked This is a very well kept site in an idyllic setting. The owners are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. My grandson loved the play area, we couldn't drag him away and the cafe is brilliant, a real gem.
You couldn't ask for a better location, the scenery from the site is unbelievable and there are so many wonderful places to visit nearby. We spent a lovely afternoon in Saltburn and the following day in Redcar. Lovely quaint seaside towns. Would definitely return.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked The owners are lovely and very helpful. The campsite is great, the on site park and cafe kept the kids busy and the adults well fed. Great base location for the north coast like Whitby and Staithes.

From the manager: Thanks it was bank holiday and the farms around us must of all decided to have a party that weekend i did go to my next door neighbour and asked him to turn it down ,then the farm on the hill had a party but when i saw the bucking bronco turn up to my other neighbours farm i knew i was onto a loser .

Local attractions

Beach day? You’ve got yourself a few options. Staithes (half an hour’s drive) is a worthy spot. Set over a hillside with cobbled streets and old cottages, the village also has a beach with lovely rockpools. You might be lucky enough to uncover a few fossils too. In Whitby (35 minutes), the beach is lined with gorgeous beach huts. Water activities aren’t exclusive to the sea, either. Windsurfing and boat rides are some of the activities at the Tees Barrage Bridge (20 minutes). At Cod Beck Reservoir (25 minutes), there’s no swimming but the water makes for gorgeous hiking views. A hilly climb is also on hand at Carlton Bank (25 minutes), which has moor views to switch things up. A famous figure in these parts is Captain Cook; learn about his journeys at the Captain Cook's Monument (15 minutes) or the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum (15 minutes).
