Apothecary yurt

Liked Absolutely adored our night in the apothecary yurt, my first time staying in a yurt so only booked the one night. Can't wait to return. Loved the wood stove! Very comfortable!

Local attractions

Guisborough (five minutes’ drive) is rather more than just your nearest place to pick up food – it’s also the place for a day out at Gisborough Priory followed by a stroll along the pathways at Guisborough Forest & Walkway Visitor Centre. If you’re more taken with trails that take you uphill, aim instead to roam on Roseberry Topping (10 minutes). You may well spot some of the local wildlife as you wander in either location, but if you want guaranteed sightings you’d best stop by at Kirkleatham Owl Centre (five minutes). If your country wanderings aren’t complete without a visit to a stately home, amble around Ormesbury Hall National Trust estate (15 minutes). For seaside times, take the 10-minute drive to Saltburn-by-the-Sea for beach days, games of golf and tramway rides. A little further along the coast but well worth the effort are Whitby (half an hour) and pretty Robin Hood’s Bay (40 minutes). If city life is calling, make for Middlesbrough (20 minutes) for the modern art museum, theatre and Tees Transporter bridge (which you can climb or bungee jump from if you’re feeling particularly intrepid…)
