Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked This is a lovely small campsite with everything you could need. Beautiful views, great showers and friendly staff. We stayed for 3 nights and it was fabulous.

Yes the track is a bit rough but it's really not that bad if you go slowly. Don't let that out you off.

Disliked Nothing!

Sparrow camping pod

Liked Quiet small site in countryside. Walk across fields and wood to beach. Friendly helpful staff. Clean toilets and showers. Stayed in Sparrow camping pod, grandchildren had a wonderful time at campsite and beach. Enjoyed having the fire pit for camp cooking and toasted marshmallows. Views across fields to sea from the camping pod. Would recommend. Grandchildren already planning next years stay!

Local attractions

Heritage is all around here: local village Easington is home to an ancient church famed as a sailor's landmark, and is a former mining town with colliery remnants including a pit cage and pit wheel monuments at the nature reserve on the old pit site. More old mining bits and bobs can be picked up on the local beaches, including sea coal and sea glass. Walk through the woods and along the coastal path to the seaside town of Seaham, its beaches and harbour; the area around the farm is a wildlife haven too, so the quiet of foot might see deer and badger setts along the way. Like most the beaches along this stretch of Durham coast, those at Seaham are popular for sea fishing, particularly from the Featherbed rocks to Ryhope Dene. Hartlepool (25 minutes) has the HMS Trincomalee and the Maritime Experience on its quayside; at Durham, meander along the river for viewsome looks at the spectacular cathedral and castle.
