Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked The site was quiet and peaceful. Everything was clean and tidy.
I admit it took a few visits to get used to the composting toilet, but that was more a us issue having never experienced one before.
As an extra we hired one of the sites fire pits, which we sat around as the sun set, which helped make our stay more memorable.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely, quiet spot. Only one other camper was there when I stayed, so I had virtually the entire field to myself.

Water available as well as a spotlessly clean compostable toilet.

Access is really easy, and a track runs the entire length of the field. No muddy scramble to get out, in the rain!

Excellent drainage.

Lovely and friendly communication from the site owner.

Disliked The field is very uneven, but as there was only one other person there, this wasn’t a problem, and I was easily able to find a level spot to position my camper.

From the manager: We are glad you had enjoyable stay.

Our field has a mixture of medieval ridge and furrow as well as a completely flat mowed area. We are very flexible and let campers choose their own pitches (weather permitting) .

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked The location was excellent for a peaceful relaxing stay.
I enjoyed the views of the sheep and horses in the surrounding fields and listening to the birds.
We used it as a base to visit local attractions including the British Motor museum and Warwick Castle which were easy to get to by road.
The compost toilet was kept very clean and it was great to have fresh water available.

Disliked There was nothing to dislike.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Peaceful remote field only one other van there

Disliked Don't be mislead this is not a 4 acre field and the only possible parking area is along the hedge next to the gravel road that runs adjacent to the hedge
the pitches are only around 7 metres deep with a sloping ditch down to the hedge
Small bins were in need of emptying

Local attractions

This is a brilliant base for explores in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Take off on tours of cracking Cotswold villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water (40 minutes’ drive) or stick closer to home with trips to the National Herb Centre and the Redwings Horse Sanctuary (10 minutes). Go north to Stratford-upon-Avon next for wanders around Shakespeare’s birthplace. The Swan Theatre, where the bard’s plays are performed, is here, as is his wife Anne Hathaway’s historical cottage. Already swotted up on the poet’s life and work? Rent a boat to bob up and down on the Avon River. For a trip to yet another top town, chuck Royal Leamington Spa (25 minutes) on the itinerary and roam around Regency buildings such as the colonnade-covered Royal Pump Rooms, formerly a 19th-century bathhouse and now the Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum.
