What customers say

This site offers a remote, wild camping experience with spectacular views and ample space between pitches, ensuring peace and quiet. Guests praised the beautiful location, access to walking and MTB trails, and the helpfulness of the hosts, who provide firewood and water refills. Basic facilities, including portable toilets and cold showers, are available and generally found to be clean. While some mention sloping pitches and a rough access track, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors keen to return.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Amazing views, right next to Eastridge Woods for walking & MTB trails, clean toilets and showers, pitches well spaces out.

Disliked Can take some time to find flat ground. Cold water showers and no washing up area, but that is made clear under features.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Stunning location and fantastic views of the hills. We had the entire field to ourselves, so was brilliant for the kids to run free. Very much a "wild camping" feel. If you like a pristine site with flat ground, mown lawns and hot showers this site is not for you. But for us it was perfect.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Really enjoyed our stay at Lower Vessons. It is very basic with just a portaloo and cold porta-showers, but it has all you need. You are far away from the other campers so aren't disturbed overnight, and the owners were very attentive and friendly. Loved it!

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Upon arrival we were greeted by Seb and Imogen. They directed us to our woodland pitch, provided our basket of firewood, water and firepit. Imogen advised we could text her if we needed anything, but we were then left to enjoy the evening.

We were a short walk from the field with a portaloo, the walk was fine for us, but this may be an issue for people with mobility issues.

Although we'd requested a woodland pitch, we didn't expect to get one due to it being the Bank Holiday weekend. Couldnt have asked for more! The pitch was great, we had plenty of room for our tent and equipment and had a great evening!

Disliked The only slight issue was that the woodland pitch we had, was on a slight slope. This wasn't a major issue for us, we were able to level out the area where our tent and chairs were and had no further issues.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Location: views are amazing as is the location for great walks. You can walk to Stiperstones from the site, visit the pub there and walk back. Also a lovely half hour woodland walk to the local in Habberley. The Mytton arms which was good value, friendly with nice food and cocktails!
Site: very spacious pitches so it really felt like you were camping on your own. Our dogs loved the freedom and it was very relaxing due to the privacy and quietness (but if you want to be louder they can put you in an even more secluded spot). The toilets were spotless.
Communication/ services: very prompt communication with directions etc. Imogen welcomed us and she and her family were all very friendly and couldn’t do enough - but not in your face - just there if needed. They supplied us with clean water each day - twice at times due to the weather. This was a great service.

Disliked Nothing!
