What customers say

Visitors praise the beautiful, secluded location with stunning views and a peaceful, "wild camping" atmosphere. Pitches are widely spaced, offering privacy and ample room. The friendly, attentive hosts are frequently mentioned, with particular appreciation for their helpfulness. While acknowledging the basic nature of the facilities, including portaloo toilets and cold showers, many find them clean and sufficient. Some guests note that pitches can be sloping and access tracks rough, but overall satisfaction remains high, with many planning return visits.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The owners were so kind and helpful- and very responsive.
The views were just beautiful. It’s such a peaceful place to stay. There are lots of lovely walks nearby as well, with a very nice local pub.
You can purchase log baskets to use with the on site fire pits which is a really lovely touch.

Disliked It is very off-grid. There are only portaloos, and no running water so difficult to even wash hands or wash up after meals.
It is a very beautiful though, and we would definitely return if only staying for a couple of nights. It would be difficult to stay for much longer than this as a result of the lack of shower facilities/running water.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for visiting! We appreciate your feedback regarding the facilities; we are definitely an off-grid experience, but we're working on making stays more comfortable. We are aware that the tap and hose pipe is a slight walk away. We're glad you enjoyed the beauty of the site and hope to see you again!

A wonderful place to stay if you want peace and quiet.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Stunning location and fantastic views of the hills. We had the entire field to ourselves, so was brilliant for the kids to run free. Very much a "wild camping" feel. If you like a pristine site with flat ground, mown lawns and hot showers this site is not for you. But for us it was perfect.
