Non-electric grass pitch (large)

Liked Reception staff and wardens were really friendly, pitches were big and the kids liked the park.
Good location for what we wanted.

Disliked Toilet/shower blocks were awful. Even when they were cleaned, it felt dirty and smelly.
Some other campers were rude and disrespectful, disregarding most of the rules. They gave the place a horrible atmosphere.
Won't stay again.

Non-electric grass pitch (large)

Liked We enjoyed our stay .. well organised on arrival and staff where great and helpful, the tent pitches were big, lots to do for children on site including 2 parks, animals, kids entertainment (only on some nights), outdoor swimming pool (which is we also well organised). And also things to do for children near by.. We visited the ironworks museum and hoo zoo. Both great days out and around half an hour drive away.

Disliked Toilets are dated I’d would have said unclean but there was always cleaners in cleaning them, grass wasn’t the best for pegs and I would be careful driving on the grass as I seen lots of pegs and screws left when walking to the toilet, there was a few loud families (swearing and there was even a scuffle between 2 families) but this can’t be helped by the campsite and it never kept us awake. They did keep all of us together on a huge field which I didn’t see the point in but again didn’t keep us awake, pool wasn’t the cleanest and the food at the cafe was awful.

What customers say

This is a large, family-friendly campsite with numerous activities for children including play areas and a swimming pool. Pitches are generally spacious and well-maintained. Staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful. However, some visitors note that the toilet and shower facilities are dated and could benefit from refurbishment. Noise from other campers and occasional issues with ground hardness for pegs are also mentioned.

Electric grass pitch (large, no pets)

Liked Very helpful and friendly staff, very informative. And was told if I needed anything at all 24 hours to call them. Being a single mum this was nice to hear.
Large pitch (orange) close to portable facilities (very clean) an a short walk to permanent facilities.
Good pool, booking system easy to use, shop has a good selection of food, good selection of food throughout the day. Evening entertainment disco an bingo was good. Weekend singer was great too. Prices were reasonable on everything. 2 different play parks for the kids, safe an secure.
Would recommend and will be returning.

Would love to be able to feed the animals.

Disliked Nothing.

Electric grass pitch (large, no pets)

Liked Lovely facilities, well organised and friendly checking - my kids loved seeing the pigs.

Disliked The young lady in the shop was quite short with my daughter who was selecting a toy to buy - no need for that in a family campsite shop. My daughter didn’t tell me until we got outside and I said I’m surprised you didn’t ask for a squishy toy and she said the woman shouted at her. Had I seen it happen I’d have said something.

Local attractions

Shropshire is a pretty peaceful place without too many crowds most of the time, so grab your chance to get stuck into a few gentle activities like floating on the Shropshire Union Canal, river Severn or Llangollen canal (50 minutes' drive). The site is also within striking distance of Ironbridge Gorge (45 minutes), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Adore exploring the history of a place? Take yourself to spots like the British Ironwork Centre (35 minutes), Blists Hill Victorian Town (40 minutes) and Royal Air Force Museum Midlands (40 minutes), or pretend like you've gone back in time at Attingham Park (25 minutes), a National Trust site. The Quarry (half an hour) is a gorgeous spot for a little stroll in Shrewsbury, and if you fancy something a bit more challenging, Hawkstone Park Follies (five minutes) has sandstone hills and caves. If you're looking for activities that'll entertain the kids, however, make a beeline for Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World (35 minutes). The site is near plenty of historic Shropshire towns and villages, from Hodnet (10 minutes) and Ellesmere (20 minutes) to Market Drayton (20 minutes) and Oswestry (40 minutes).
