Electric grass pitch

Liked What a great camp site. Second time we have been and thoroughly enjoyed both stays. If you have a dog, enjoy a fire pit in the evening, don’t want a phone signal and would like a babbling brook at the end of your camp site please come here. The owners are a great couple and ever so happy to help.

Disliked Nothing at all.

Liked It had fantastic views and so peaceful In the middle of nowhere, no phone signal so complete peace.
The toilets and showers were very clean, the shower was lovely and warm and very good pressure.

The children were very helpful opening the gate and very, very polite.
I would highly recommend and I will be back.

What customers say

Runnis Meadow is praised for its beautiful, peaceful location, spacious pitches, and exceptional cleanliness, particularly the modern toilet and shower facilities. Reviewers highlight the friendly and helpful owners. While the lack of phone signal and WiFi is noted, many guests find this a positive aspect, contributing to a digital detox. Some mention that the access road can be narrow and the grass occasionally long, but these are generally minor points. The site is considered dog and family-friendly, with many returning visitors.

Liked Absolutely wonderful two night stay. Enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of Runnis Meadow, the walks in the surrounding area, the clean and thoughtful facilities - but the genuine, warm welcoming feeling sets this place apart. Thank you so much again, hope to see you again soon! Karen, Paul and Digby

Local attractions

The remains of an Iron Age fort are not the only draw at Roundton Hill National Nature Reserve (15 minutes’ drive). This Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is also a haven for bats (who roost in disused lead mines), lizards and butterflies, plus birds such as yellowhammers and woodpeckers. Had enough of grilling your own meals? A thriving dining scene awaits in Ludlow (40 minutes). For a small market town, Ludlow has a surprising amount of award-winning restaurants, plus traditional pubs and deli shops selling local specialities. If you visit in September, you might also catch the food festival, which takes place inside the medieval castle. In addition to its castle and cathedral, Shrewsbury (40 minutes) is known for the Quarry, a garden stretching along the River Severn. There is plenty to do here besides admiring colourful flower beds and relaxing on the lawn: National Cycle Route 81 skirts the water, you can hire canoes, or let the kids tire themselves out at the Quarry Splash Park.
