Electric grass pitch

Liked We love this campsite. It's the second year we've been and have had a great time both times. The owners are lovely and welcoming. It's just the right size and not crowded. The field is enclosed so we don't worry about the children wondering off. The toilet and shower facilities are clean and work well.

What customers say

This is a well-run, peaceful, and very clean campsite situated in a beautiful location with lovely scenery and spacious pitches. Visitors consistently praise the excellent, modern, and spotlessly clean toilet and shower facilities, with plentiful hot water. Owners are frequently described as extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Dog and family-friendly, the site offers a quiet escape with amenities like fire pits and a cake shed. Some guests appreciated the lack of WiFi and mobile signal, viewing it as a digital detox. Minor points raised included the grass length after rain and limited local walking options from the site.

Liked The showers were excellent. Love a loo in the shower area. Perfect!
Fire pits.
Quiet.
No WiFi-blooming marvellous.
Nothing too much trouble for the owner.

Disliked Grass was a bit high so by evening it was a very soggy walk to and from the loo.

From the manager: That you for staying with us, and leaving a review.
The long grass was due to 2 weeks of rain prior to the bank holiday weekend, and not wishing to cut the grass whilst we had campers and spoiling their stay.

Local attractions

The remains of an Iron Age fort are not the only draw at Roundton Hill National Nature Reserve (15 minutes’ drive). This Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is also a haven for bats (who roost in disused lead mines), lizards and butterflies, plus birds such as yellowhammers and woodpeckers. Had enough of grilling your own meals? A thriving dining scene awaits in Ludlow (40 minutes). For a small market town, Ludlow has a surprising amount of award-winning restaurants, plus traditional pubs and deli shops selling local specialities. If you visit in September, you might also catch the food festival, which takes place inside the medieval castle. In addition to its castle and cathedral, Shrewsbury (40 minutes) is known for the Quarry, a garden stretching along the River Severn. There is plenty to do here besides admiring colourful flower beds and relaxing on the lawn: National Cycle Route 81 skirts the water, you can hire canoes, or let the kids tire themselves out at the Quarry Splash Park.
