  • In the grounds of a Victorian farm
  • Eight acres of farmland with plenty of space on site
  • Alpacas, llamas and farm shop

provides traditional farm holidays for campers who enjoy rural simplicity combined with modern facilities. Come and stay in the grounds of a real Victorian farm that dates back to the 1860s, is surrounded by countryside, and which has traditional farm animals and some more exotic four-legged friends...

Stay on historic rig and furrow land that has been untouched since Viking times - this area has a rich history of Viking settlers and who knows, maybe the original Captain Bluebell sailed his long boat ashore at Anderby Creek and ploughed these lands himself...?

The site is close to Anderby Creek beach and midway between all the popular resorts of the east coast. Also a 30-minute drive away is the Donna Nook National Nature Reserve and seal sanctuary. You’ll find lovely coastal walks just at the end of the road too.

The campsite is set where the coast meets the countryside; the seafront is a couple of miles away at the end of the village. In the area there are beaches for safe bathing and miles of clean sand backed by sand dunes and leading to many traditional villages with restaurants, bars and seaside attractions.

On the farm there are alpacas, sheep, ponies, llamas, chickens and a herd of goats. There are eight acres of farmland with plenty of space around the campsite. Relax here at Captain Bluebell's at a nice family campsite with plenty of space between pitches and a clean modern shower block. Feel free to let your children explore and play on the farm where they can use their imagination instead of their iPad.

The site has a shop selling camping supplies, jams, chutneys, fresh eggs and Farmer Brown's ice cream. Feel secure in the knowledge that someone is always on site: if you don't find the team in the shop or reception they will be in the farmhouse right by the front gate. There are many dog-walking areas close by and there’s no extra charge to bring your dog as everyone knows they're part of the family…

Public footpaths lead to The Red Lion or you can take a courtesy bus to The Axe and Cleaver in Huttoft – if booked, the landlord will even bring you home again at the end of the night. Both pubs have regular entertainment, good food and Sunday lunches.

A bus service runs from the end of the farm lane to all major resorts in the region as well as to Louth.
