What customers say

This is a well-maintained, clean, and peaceful campsite with spacious pitches and beautiful surroundings. Visitors praise the friendly and helpful staff, the on-site bar and restaurant (Woody's) offering good food at reasonable prices, and the excellent facilities, particularly the clean shower blocks and family rooms. The site is ideal for dog owners with plenty of woodland walks and is also popular for fishing. Minor points raised include dated shower blocks in some areas, occasional road noise, and some WiFi issues. Overall, it's highly recommended and many visitors plan to return.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Very nice holiday park, the whole park was very clean. The walk around the lakes is also very pretty, my young daughter loved walking around it every day. The toilet and shower facilities have everything you need and were always really clean. Also multiple points to get rid of waste from the motorhome. The bar and restaurant were also very nice with a good range of drinks. We did not eat there but the food looked and smelt amazing. There was a good and reasonably priced menu. Very useful have the petrol station just over the road in case you need to buy any last minute bits.

Disliked Only slight issue was the water point next to our pitch only had a very short thread which made attaching a hose a bit difficult. But it worked in the end so only a minor issue.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We loved everything about this site. The walls were amazing. We have 2 dogs and have been to sites before where the walk is very short and nothing to do. Here you can go as long or short as you want. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the lovely warm arrival by the ladies on reception, to sadly leaving even though we wish we could have stated longer. The pitches were very spacious and clean not to mention level.

We had our caravan, awning and car all in a row on the pitch. The electricity was good. ie didn’t trip if you wanted to boil the kettle while the heater was on! The shower blocks were immaculate as well as warm and had the radio playing which was a lovely touch. Yes they were a little dated but lovely hot water for a shower and very clean facilities.

We struggled for a phone signal on and off but this may have been it network and did t impact on our stay as we weren’t away to be on our phones!

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Beautiful site {and well maintained} I can image even more so in summer, the disabled toilet was really well looked after and warm for the time of year, the process of booking and going to your pitch was easy enough but a little hard and confusing to find your pitch once there, it could do with a marker on a board rather than a plaque on the floor but once we found it was happy. Woody's bar is really good as was the food no complaints from all 3 of us, the young men who served us were really good and polite and very professional. Will definitely be going again. Plenty going on to with pool satellite and darts { Darts needs a little TLC} but all in all lovely site.

Disliked Not very well lit when coming back to your pitch could do with a little light but wouldn't put us off going again first timers so will arm ourselves with a torch next time. Its on the list.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Great site lovely walks big advantage Pub/restaurant on site

Disliked Footpath signage around the site and fields beyond is pour and could use improvement. The green footpath signs give no indication of where they lead to. Thank goodness for Google maps to get us back to campsite!

Liked Very peaceful. Clean and tidy. Good facilities. Friendly staff. Pitch size.

Disliked Couldn't find where grey water was. It wasn't showing on the map. Clarity on signage needed for traffic direction flow and waste.

Local attractions

History buffs will certainly want to make their hasty way to this part of Lincolnshire. It’s a treasure trove of old England… Grantham (15 minutes’ drive) is a top choice for first forays into the past – it’s the town where Isaac Newton attended school and is home to the spectacular 14th-century Grantham House as well as a local history museum that gives an overview of everything from the Normandy landings to the Iron Lady. If appetites for stately homes have been whetted by Grantham, satisfaction can be found within easy reach: the 17th-century Belton House and its gardens, parkland and adventure playground are 10 minutes from base, and Newton’s homestead of Woolsthorpe Manor (although much more modest) is within 20 minutes – just watch out for falling fruit… Step back into the present day and take to the open air for refreshing saunters around Easton Walled Garden – referred to by US president Franklin D Roosevelt as ‘a dream of Nirvana… almost too good to be true’ – and the scenic market town of Sleaford, both 15 minutes from home base. Need more bang for your urban buck? Lincoln is 35 minutes away for shopping and even more history, and Nottingham’s arboretum, caves and Robin Hood experience are within an hour.
