  • Grass pitches for CAMC members only at a six-acre Lincolnshire site
  • Lincoln half an hour's drive away; 45 minutes to Cleethorpes beach
  • In the grounds of an award-winning ice cream parlour and café
There are more than 75 flavours on the menu at award-winning Blyton Ice Cream, so you’d need to settle in for a little while to make even a tiny dent in that list. Good news, then, for members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, who can book grass pitches at Blyton Ice Cream Certificated Location, in the six-acre space behind the parlour – a very handy location for sampling the tasty treats. These pitches are for CAMC members only, but they welcome kids and dogs as part of the deal, so you’ll be able to bring your whole gang along. This location, in the Lincolnshire village of Blyton (about 10 minutes’ drive from Gainsborough) is a handy one for more than just ice cream feasts, as it’s also just a short walk from two local pubs, a shop and a Chinese takeaway. The café on site is also open throughout the week for breakfasts and lunches and stays open late for takeaways and deliveries from Friday to Sunday, when you can get sweet treats and homemade pizzas delivered right to the door of your motorhome or caravan (how very civilised…) Clearly you’re going to need to work up a good appetite for all of this, and that may involve following one of the walking trails running from the site, heading out into the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape or having a good wander around Lincoln (both about half an hour’s drive away). There’s also the option of a day at the seaside in Cleethorpes – but equally you could choose to stick closer to home while the kids make use of the play park, go karts and mini golf on site. There’s also a fishing lake here, which guests can book day tickets for.
