Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Turn up and choose your pitch according to group size - let me pick somewhere with trees for my hammock.
Clearly demarked pitches, but enough to spread out and some pitches that felt more secluded from others.
Readily available water, sinks and portaloos. More established loos and showers a short walk away.
Free firewood.
Beautiful location, owner came by for a chat/check-in in the evening.
My hammock strap was too short for the tree and it was very easy to locate the owner, and he leant me a ratchet strap to solve my problem.
Beautiful peaceful location.
There was a birthday party the second night but it sounded like they were in a separate field, one of them was very friendly and I bought ear plugs anyway as I'm a light sleeper, so not an issue for me.

Liked Absolutely fantastic stay from start to finish. The location is peaceful, relaxing and surrounded by beautiful scenery, making it the perfect place to unwind. The amenities were excellent and very well maintained, with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The owner was incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. The site itself is well cared for and has a lovely atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to return. One of the best camping experiences I’ve had and I will definitely be booking again in the future.

Disliked Nothing to dislike. I had a wonderful stay and would happily return.

What customers say

Guests praise the beautiful, peaceful location with ample space and clearly demarked pitches, many feeling secluded. Free firewood, readily available water, and helpful owners are frequently mentioned. Showers are described as good, with clean, well-maintained toilets. Some notes mention ridge and furrow terrain can be uneven. Road noise can be a factor depending on pitch location. A manager's reply acknowledges an issue with toilet roll stock.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked LOVED the long grass between each pitch, when you are sat on your camping chair it feels so private. Think the photos on the website dont show the size of the site/ pitches available well enough, its a relatively large site, but felt so quiet and there was a good variety of pitch sizes to choose from.

The shower/ toilet facilities were good.

Local attractions

A walk along the Severn Way is a must, of course – especially if you happen to be here around the time of the Severn Bore, an intriguing natural tidal surge that also attracts surfers and kayakers keen to try something a bit different. There are also loads of great walks and things to see over in the Wye Valley National Landscape – a few favourites are Clearwell Caves (half an hour), Puzzle Wood (half an hour) and Tintern Abbey (45 minutes). You may also like to try canoeing from Symonds Yat (35 minutes) or visiting the Forest of Dean (20 minutes) for bike rides, a Go Ape course and a colourful sculpture trail. Heading the other way, you could spend some time in Gloucester (15 minutes), visiting the cathedral and National Waterways Museum or joining spooky tours at Gloucester Prison Events. A little way outside the city, there are more attractions like the Jet Age Museum (20 minutes) and Painswick Rococo Garden (25 minutes).
