Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Nice friendly site, Jo was a lovely lady, the lake was beautiful, we had great weather so that was a bonus

Disliked: We were on fully serviced pitches so obvs pay a bit more but was disappointed that those pitches didn’t have WiFi but the lower pitches did, wouldn’t normally bother us but we wanted to watch the semi final of the basketball as it was important to us

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thankyou for leaving a review, we are semi rural so we dont advertise the wifi as it doesnt always cover the whole site, but great to read you enjoyed your visit

Lovely well cared for family run site, you will need levelling blocks.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Sites were not on top of each other giving a feeling of space, lovely views too. Easy dog walking. Very well kept site with very friendly staff.

Disliked: The gravel road into the site was a bit noisy but did not distract too much from our stay (minor quibble!).

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Large pitches for the caravan. Small but well stocked shop. Partner had recently started fishing again and loved his time spent around the lake, the fishing was definitely successful. Lots of things to do within an easy drive from the site.

From the manager: Thankyou Tracey for leaving a great review and glad the fishing was enjoyed

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely quiet site. Good size pitches Nice clean toilets and showers. Friendly staff and a handy little store. Nice little lake to exercise the dogs around. Some lovely walks and places to visit nearby.

Disliked: Could do with a couple more toilets and showers. Some people ignoring the dogs must be on a lead rule. Long hoses needed for the serviced pitches. If walking with dogs please be aware there are no pavements on the road the site is on.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thankyou Andrew, great to read you enjoyed your visit and you would visit again, we do have extra hoses if needed

Caroline J. The reviewer booked through Pitchup.com

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely quite sure with all amenities toilets /shower and little onsite shop ,even though you are close to road it is not that noticeable and fairly quiet ,just be weary of satnav postcode as it sent us past site and had to turn around further down lane and unfortunately for us managed to clip back end of van

Disliked: Some of the pitches are very steep so you will need plenty off block to level van and to us we were little uncomfortable with the front being so high of ground Maybe little not somewhere on booking page suggesting to take some extra blocks as some pitches can need them we were lucky as there were some breeze block’s lying around so made do

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: thankyou Caroline for leaving a review, we have tried to get the sat nav pointing sorted to save confusion. We do highlight on pitch up that levellers may be needed as we are in the dales.

Local attractions

There are so many great spot to choose from in the Peak District National Park – perhaps you’d like to go for a family bike ride on the Tissington Trail from Ashbourne (15 minutes’ drive), hop across the stepping stones at Dovedale (25 minutes) or finish up a hike by sampling the traditional puddings in Bakewell (35 minutes)? A visit to the Chatsworth Estate (40 minutes) is a must – for the farm shop, adventure playground and farmyard as much as the house and gardens themselves – and the nearby Kedleston Hall National Trust estate (10 minutes) is another spot that’s worth a visit. For more ideas to keep the kids happy, try the watersports and bike rides at Carsington Water (10 minutes), days out at Gulliver’s Kingdom family theme park (20 minutes) or a cable car ride with splendid views at Heights of Abraham (20 minutes).
