Great place, fantastic location. Will be back
Bell tent (couples only, deluxe)
Liked Great campsite - very child friendly. We had two yurts and three tents in the campsite so spent most of our time in the main camping field. The site has a quiet by 10 policy which is largely observed. It was very friendly and the new loo block in the far field is a great improvement. The Yurks had heated blankets are were well equipped. We ordered 15 pizzas on the Saturday evening ( a pre booked 5pm slot) and they were all ready by 5.20. Great food, very hot and good portions for hungry teenagers. Parking was easy and our younger campers made lots of friends so needed little entertainment. I've been coming here on and off since I was 15 (30 years) and look forward to many more return visits in the future. We will be back again next year.
Disliked My only minor criticism of the site was related to music. In an ideal world it would be great of the campsite had a no music policy. We arrived at the Yurts to find a large group (not camping in the field) all blasting out music VERY loud. Other that that I can't fault the place.

Bell tent (couples only, deluxe)
Liked Lovely clean site with beautiful views. New toilet and shower block is amazing, however the old one wasn’t that bad either. On site facilities are brilliant, the cafe is a great addition and brilliant for breakfast. The cafe and the 2 pubs both cater for gluten free food and alcohol, this was greatly appreciated! The bell tents were very comfortable and well stocked with everything you need, the surprise addition of electricity and an electric blanket topped off our stay. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend to friends and family. Thank you

Excellent site, friendly staff and has everything you need and more!
Bell tent (couples only, deluxe)
Liked Everything was great! We stayed in one of the clamping tents- everything we needed and more, really enjoyed the camp itself with the lovely shop, cafe, pub across the road, and the pizza ovens where we ordered for later that night. Really tasty.
Disliked We had read reviews about the shower block requiring attention. The showers and loos were clean and tidy and there was a sign up abiut the new showers coming soon, looking forward to seeing that.

Bell tent (couples only, deluxe)
Liked Stayed in the new bell tents.
It was lovely to arrive and already be set up.
2 pubs locally plus an on site cafe/bar.
Good facilities.
Great location.
Disliked They could have lowered the price structure for midweek.
Weekend was packed but come Monday we were the only occupants in the bell tents and we were still paying weekend prices.

Disliked We bought a Luxury Bell Tent experience for a member of our family for their birthday, and unfortunately she didn’t have a good experience with aspects of the stay ranging from disappointing to unacceptable.
The most disappointing part was nobody available to facilitate check when our guest arrived at 7pm, despite the confirmation booking saying check in was between 3pm-8pm, which led our guest had to find the tent by themselves. When Newfold Farm called us earlier in the day, we were asked “where we were” and we were told they “finish early on Sundays”, despite the booking confirmation saying otherwise.
Unfortunately this set the tone for the standard of customer service we received.
Other issues on arrival ranged from the the tent not being secured properly, having only one match provided for lighting the hob, no milk provided despite tea and coffee being provided (some UHT capsules would have remedied this), and inadequate lighting inside the tent, and many other issues which we highlighted in our complaints to Newfold Farm.
Some of these issues were remedied during the stay, however we’re extremely disappointed not just by the poor experience that was provided for something billed as a luxury experience, but how this carried on afterwards with the lack of response to our complaint.
We’ve tried contacting Newfold Farm three times over this to give them an opportunity to address our concerns and requested a partial refund, but did not receive a response after giving them over 2 weeks to address these. Unfortunately we now have no choice but to leave a disappointing review.
If you manage the campsite and are reading this, we have sent emails to campsite@newfoldfarmedale.com, and we are still awaiting a reply to resolve the issues.
Overall we feel that Newfold Farm is chasing luxury money, but not providing the experience and customer service to back it up, and I hope that these issues are resolved not only so we can settle the complaint, but also so that future customers can have a better experience.

Absolute Gem of a campsite :-)
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked The owners of this site are genuinely lovely people, really welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. It was nice to just be asked how our stay was and if we slept ok. You can tell that Andy and Gill genuinely care about what they do.
The site itself is an absolute gem, georgeous location and really spacious pitches. Theres a great little games room with pool / air hockey table, table tennis, dartboard, table football and family board games. Theres a fridge and kettle for shared use which was a bonus, and this is all in with the price. We now have oir new favourite campsite and will be booking again soon.
The washrooms were kept pristine condition, which is always a bonus and there are plenty of sinks with hot water to do the pots.
You can also hire fire pits and enjoy a campfire.
Just a few minute walk either direction from the site, and there are 2 nice places to eat and grab a drink and for those that like a hike, you can do a full roundtrip from the site, up past Mam Tor and down into castleton and back.
For what is a fairly new site, we were really impressed.
Disliked There wasnt anything to dislike. Great site

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Perfect location for trail walking and fabulous shower block, which I never had to queue/wait for. Handy for train station and enjoyed a nearby pub. The older shower block was still perfectly functional.
Disliked Hardstanding pitches a little close to neighbouring pitches. Never found the general store open.

Liked The site was well maintained, the facilities excellent and the little touches made all the difference.
The staff were warm and welcoming and we are looking forward to returning.

Excellent site with clean facilities and friendly staff.
Grouse non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Facilities and position were excellent. Some of the best wash/toilet/shower facilities I have found at a campsite. Also had plug sockets for charging. Cafe was fab. Pizzas were great, staff friendly. Nr walks and train station and pubs on the door step. Scenery stunning. Local pub also did gluten free beer and gluten free pizza was also available so that is always an excellent thing for celiacs. Quietened down fairly quickly at night and noise levels were not even slightly an issue for sleeping.
Disliked Was unaware that there was no cars on camping field, if I'd have known I'd have bought a trolley to carry the tent etc across the grass further to find a pitch that was a little more level. Cars off the grass isn't a bad thing necessarily because it makes the surroundings look nicer and safer for kids But it's just a matter of carrying everything.

Would definitely return for walking in Peak District. Nice campsite
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Location is perfect for walks. Lovely cafe, main toilet/shower block is really nice. Friendly greeting. Pitches are nice - pretty level with electric hook up.
Lovely shop just around the corner. Walking distance to pubs
Disliked The main shower/toilet block whilst lovely and modern is not enough - they could do with at least another one just as big.

We would return! Good amenities and walks available.
Sparrowhawk non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Amenities onsite were great. Cafe, themed evening food, and a brand new set of washrooms. However, the gem was the old washrooms! Very few people were using them, but they were perfectly serviceable, so it was much more pleasant to use those facilities!
Staff were hardworking, but once you spoke to them they were friendly and helpful.
