What customers say

This is a peaceful and spacious campsite in a beautiful Peak District location, offering excellent value. Visitors consistently praise the cleanliness of the facilities, the stunning views, and the friendly owners. There is ample room to choose pitches, and it's well-suited for exploring local walks. Showers and hot water for washing up are coin-operated. Some guests noted occasional noise from other campers and the need for coins for hot water facilities.

Liked Lovely site. We stay regularly. The owners do everything to help you.

Disliked Group of lads playing music and would not be told when the owners asked them to turn it off.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Large site with plenty of space, facilities are decent and clean.

Disliked I've stayed her multiple times before and have reccomend this site to many friends/family. However I will not be anymore, the staff were rude, confrontational and really put a dampener on our experience.

Friends being told when going to the shower "you're not coming in here are you? I'm starting cleaning" in an aggressive manner and being told to go away - what a great good morning that is.

Other very one sided (owner/staff) confrontations were had too.

Very poor attitude with little respect for their guests. Customers are paying to stay on your site, treat them with a bit of respect and humanity next time.

Local attractions

Eating as much Bakewell pudding as you like is perfectly acceptable because of the abundance of hiking trails on which to burn off the calories (that’s your excuse and you’re sticking to it). The limestone valley of Lathkill Dale, just outside the site, is a very fine place for a walk and has some excellent birdwatching to be done along the way. Further walks await all over the Peak District National Park for all abilities. The relatively gentle paths of Mam Tor and the Ladybower Reservoir are about 40 minutes’ drive away; keen hikers in search of a challenge should aim for Kinder Scout, 50 minutes’ drive away, to climb up to the highest point in the park. A popular option for families (on foot or by bike) is the Monsal Trail (20 minutes' drive), meandering through nature reserves and underground tunnels to finish near Bakewell (for a restorative pudding perchance?). For a spot of history (or to shelter on a damp day), head to Chatsworth, a splendid estate on the banks of the Derwent river half an hour away.
