So you tried the glamping thing over the summer and loved it, right? Of course. Well if you think you’ve got to wait another 12 months to do it all again, you’re wrong. Throughout the UK are luxury sites open year-round with all the facilities you’d expect from an upmarket break.

The weather may be turning (anyone for an Indian summer?), but you can’t beat Britain in the autumn and we have just the selection of sites to get you thinking.

These sites are open into the winter months and have lodges or static caravans so you won’t be left shivering under the canvas.

Cobbett Lodge, Tilford Woods

1. Tilford Woods, Surrey

This tranquil lodge park in the heart of Surrey offers luxurious accommodation in delicious woodland scenery. Situated near the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in woodland used to film Harry Potter movies, the self-catering accommodation comes with DVD player, verandah and some even features a hot-tub or sauna! Facilities at Tilford Woods are low-key, in keeping with the tranquil atmosphere, but a short stroll across the stream running alongside the park is the Duke of Cambridge pub, which offers home-cooked food and a children's play area.

2. Gurnard Pines, Cowes

Moments away from the yachting capital of Cowes, this active site is the perfect escape for all the family. Offering a wide variety of facilities from archery and tennis, to fencing and acrobatics, there’s plenty to keep the family busy at the beautifully scenic site. Comfortable lodges protect visitors from the turning weather, and make the perfect base for those looking to explore the Isle of Wight.

3. Annstead Farm Caravan and Luxury Campsite, Northumberland

Annstead Farm is situated on the breathtaking Northumberland coast. There are many magnificent stately homes and has more castles to visit than any other county, many of which are just a short distance from the campsite. The working farm offers a variety of superb accommodation, including self catering cottages, luxury camping in furnished permanent tents and a bunkhouse for groups.

4. Hoburne Naish, New Milton

Located on the boarder of Hampshire and Dorset, Hoburne Naish is a holiday park with a difference. Accommodation ranges from caravans to luxury lodges and the facilities are unbeatable. There is a heated outdoor pool, Dr Detox center and plenty to keep the kids occupied including the Sammy Seahorse club and mini bowling. If you feel the need to venture off site, there are plenty of scenic walks and for, the more adventurous visitors, local attractions include Go Ape! Moors Valley.

5. Tencreek Holiday Park, Cornwall

Tencreek is located close to Looe in the beautiful Daphne du Maurier country. The rural location is perfect for exploring South East Cornwall and Devon. This fantastic holiday park provides year round fun with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a 45-metre water flume Adventure Playground to keep the kids amused, as well as a choice of several indoor sports suitable for the whole family. Accommodation options are extensive, you can choose from 6-8 berth modern caravans or bring your own caravan, motorhome or tent.

6. Losehill Caravan Club Site, Peak District

This luxurious site is situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park and boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the local landscape. Perfect for year round holidays, each pitch is all weather and the local convenience shops are open through out the year. The site also has excellent well kept facilities including a parent and toddler wash room, wi-fi, laundry room and food preparation area. There are many activities within easy reach for adventurous visitors, such as rock climbing, potholing, biking, horse riding and those feeling less brave will have hours of enjoyment strolling through some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain.
