Reading, Berkshire, England
Non-electric grass and earth touring pitch
Liked Site with basic but clean facilities.
Enjoyed:
Nice quiet field
Big trees for shade
A swing hung from a tree
Wild blackberries
Plenty of space
Able to choose own pitch
Our friends were allowed to visit us on the site
Watching large construction vehicles moving gravel next to the site (this stopped in the evening and didn't disturb our sleep)
To be aware of:
Rubbish must be taken home
No specificied area for disposal of grey water
The site is priced according to the facilities. We had a lovely stay at Ellis Hill Farm Campsite and would happily return in future.

From the manager: Thank you for your detailed review. It’s very helpful. Some guests do find the lorries a bit disruptive, but most people don’t seem troubled by them. Thank you for flagging up a potential issue though. We’re working on a grey water solution at the moment particularly in the light of the extreme weather we are experiencing. We hope to improve this soon. We do have rubbish bins at the farm gate, but it helps us enormously if guests can take their rubbish home with them. On the plus side, you gave us a ten out of ten, so we must be doing something right! See you again soon.
