Solway Holiday Park

Понравилось We had a fantastic time camping. The facilities were much cleaner than expected for a camp site. There loads to do so the kids were never bored.

Понравилось Lovely atmosphere. Other campers amazing. Shower and toilet block fantastic. Didn't spend much time at the entertainment but looked fun. Drinks pricey. Had the pizzas from the van were very lovely.

Не понравилось Had issue with booking. Over paid by £43. Couldn't get anyone to help me from pitch up or the actual site. Kept getting bounced from one to another. Felt really let down by pitch up.

Понравилось The location of Solway holiday park is good with the town, sea front and the arcade/ park only a short walk from the site. The facilities on the site are modern. The shower blocks were relatively clean and user friendly. There were a variety of activities on the site including swimming and an arcade with a great selection of games for the children to play. Most of our group were impressed with the food in the restaurant (with the exception of one incident) and the pizza truck in particicular was a hit.

Не понравилось Although the shower blocks were clean and up to a decent standard, unfortunately the toilets weren't great. The floors were dirty, the soap dispensers were not topped up and the sanitary bins were often overflowing.
Overall the pitch that we were allocated was spacious and out of the way of the crowds, however, we did have an issue with noise on the second night of our stay when another camper started playing loud music late in to the night (way past the 11pm curfew) with little consideration for the families around them. When we attempted to alert security on the phone number the site provided, the number did not connect and when we went to find a security guard to alert them in person, the security guard was very reluctant to go and speak to those involved (he did go eventually). Additionally there were a couple of instances where random children from elsewhere on the site would come to our tent/ on to our pitch and show an interest in our children's belongings which also made us feel a little uncomfortable. The number of children riding electric scooters or bikes extremely quickly was also disconcerting. Our kids are quite young and nearly got knocked off on a couple of occassions. Finally, we had a small issue at the restaurant when one member of our party was forced to send his food back twice. On the first occasion, his meal was extremely over cooked (the pie was rock solid) and on the second attempt it was cold inside. He received a refund in the end and left without a meal which did put a dampener on the evening.

Понравилось The camp site was lovely. Clean toilets and showers. Clean pitches and surrounding areas. Security were very good and made sure a large group kept the noise down on a night.
All staff we came across were very friendly. Would recommend for a few days get away. Restaurant food was nice. Would go again but probably not for more than 3 nights unless you are using it just for a base as there isn’t loads to do.

Не понравилось Not a lot i disliked
The only thing is the 2nd day we were there we came back to our tent and we were surrounded by a large group of about 10 tents that were all together. It felt very cramped and of course they were very loud and took over the pitches. I feel if a large group like that was to book again then it would be better to but them somewhere towards the bottom out of other people’s way. But like I said the security guard did a good job at keep them quiet

Не понравилось I couldn't find a play park on site which I think is a big shame as kids would make friends there which helps adults out

Понравилось Close to the coast

Не понравилось The absolute height of disrespect and prejudice towards our group as fine respectable blokes and kids from
The Liverpool area. The animosity towards us from the staff was shocking. We were being accused of all sorts during our stay, #wearenotfirebugs. The club house and entertainment was a straight up scene from “little Britain”.

Понравилось Entertainment was really good with a good atmosphere. Hosts were really good. Plenty to do around the site and the town.
Chef in Borders Bar was very helpful and friendly.
Kids loved the pool.

Не понравилось Toilets were a big negative. Often with no toilet roll. Womens toilet block had no hand soap in for the 4 nights we were there.
One of the toilets in the gents had excrement plastered all over the outside. It was like that for most of the day so they aren't checked often enough.

Понравилось Communication was good for the booking, location good for walking to Grune Point, toilet block was good (it’s the users that make the mess)

Не понравилось Mess in the toilet blocks, site untidy and poorly kept.

Не понравилось Some kids broke are tent we got moved to a chalet for the night but if we wanted to stay in Chalet we would have to put £200 on top off what we already paid there was people playing there music very loud and they did nothing about it would not stay here again
