Riverside Country Park

Понравилось Close to Bamburgh Castle and the Holy island, an easily accessible campsite on the river which runs along the rear of the tourers pitches. There are a large number of pitches. Water and facilities are all close by.

Toilets and showers looked and smelled clean, there is a children's play area and fishing lake, there is an onsite restaurant and club house.

Ducks and Geese roam free around the pitches, we found them sleeping outside our van in the morning.

This was fine for us as we passed through on our tour of Scotland and Northern England.

The WiFi is a paid for service if you need it, Cell signal is fine.

Не понравилось The pitches are stacked close to each other and small, without fire break or a hedge to separate you from your neighbour. There are a number of seasonal pitches here who may be left over from when this was a Haven site. The vans look old and unkempt with one individual washing their car on the end of their pitch and pouring the soapy dirty water down the clean water drain. The facilities although clean, really need a revamp and some care, again maybe more the fault of the legacy clientele, wads of paper strewn across the loo floor, dirty cracked sinks.

There are a number of water points, one of which is at the back of a pitch, a gentleman decided that he needed to use to this water point to fill his water butt whilst a family ate their meal on said pitch. Maybe he wanted to avoid the soapy one?!

The fishing lake was found and can never be forgotten, sadly due to nature this is just a massive ring of duck and goose faecal matter. Natural yes, health hazard? Maybe. At least the band of unsupervised young ladies chasing the ducks with a witches broom may sort this issue out.

Понравилось We liked the fact there was plenty of outdoor space for the children to run around. Although none gated and pods on road

Не понравилось Nothing there site is outdated pods were tiny and dirty, we booked three nights left after one night. Smelled terrible the pod from the fridge and the pod just not being cleaned at all. Farm entertainerment for kids every morning crossed off. Food stopped serving very early in the evening only options were take out. The facilities were very bad standard. We were desperate to leave.

Не понравилось Pitches were okay but too close together, no one seemed to patrol areas as cars were parked where ever they liked.
People constantly walking through your pitch area.
Toilet block needs updating and cleaning more regularly.

Понравилось Even though a large site, it was actually very quiet. Pitch size was good. Friendly staff. Easy to find. Loved the resident ducks!
Location regards visiting lindisfarne/Bamburgh/alnwick is easy and scenic and relaxing.

Не понравилось Toilet and shower block, where to start! Hit and miss on hot/mainly warm water, push button that stays on for 10 seconds! The 'family shower room' not suitable for a family let alone small kids in any of the showers as again refer to previous, plus they are small cubicles also the skirting is/was hanging off and rotten/rusty behind it! Shower curtain not reaching the floor so floor is soaked!
The shower/toilet block needs a massive overhaul/updating!!

Heated swimming pool, which wasn't heated as broken, but wasn't told until booking a swim session, which you only get 45mins a day! Again wasn't informed of this.
The entertainment block is across the main road, so bear in mind with kids etc... maybe a crossing needs installing!
Some pitches can be tight, so be weary if no motor mover fitted.

Понравилось Easy access to town. A lovely dog walk along the river. Good value for money. Friendly geese!

Не понравилось The pitches are snug but for what we paid for it this was fine. There were lots of children on bikes it didn't bother us for one night but probably would have if we had spent alot of time sitting outside our van.

Понравилось The reason I booked this site was because of the price for a pod per night. As a single, solo traveller I wanted something that wasn’t ridiculously overpriced that I could do with my dog for a couple of nights away.

I’ve never been to Wooler and the location was ideal as I didn’t want to have to drive hours away - I live in Hartlepool. Between the pod, petrol and a little food shop - the 3 days (2 nights) was under £100. I don’t earn a lot of money and this was perfect.

The campsite itself is very well maintained and I felt it was more respectful than how I feel the campsites in Pooley Bridge have become overwhelming in recent years.

I have already re-booked for October and I have recommend this campsite and their pods to my friends. I felt very safe and secure on site which is important. I only used to toilet facilities because I didn’t need to use anything else. Toilets were spotless. The pod was spacious, the simple mini fridge a God-send and a light was all provided - all I needed. I just wanted somewhere I could sit, read my book that was close enough to a village, where I could go during the afternoon to walk my dog.

The staff at reception were very pleasant, helpful and I felt confident if I needed anything all I needed to do was ask.

Overall this was a wonderful site, well priced and I highly recommend it to anyone.
