Great Location and amenities. Let down by staff

Aug 2026

Liked The shuttle bus stops right outside the campsite gate. It is air-conditioned, the driver was friendly, and the €5 fare makes it a very convenient way to travel into Venice. The journey takes around 20 minutes. The campsite showers, laundry facilities and toilets were very clean and modern. The motorhome and tent pitches were set in a very natural environment, with a good mix of sun and shade. But could be kept tidier by weeding and trimming the grass parts and picking up of leaves. No reservations were required at the restaurants, which was very convenient. On arrival at HU Camping, we were greeted by a friendly security guard who showed us to the clearly signed check-in parking spaces. This was very helpful, and he then directed us towards our area of the holiday park. Francisco in the shop was the only member of staff who took the time to exchange friendly words with us during our stay. The shop was well stocked with a good range of basic essentials, which was very useful.

Disliked Check-in and Information Desk The check-in and information desk was clearly signed. However, it was not clear that guests needed to take a ticket and then wait for staff at a different desk, the “Day Tour” desk, to call them forward based on their ticket number. Angelica, at the tour desk, created a poor first impression as she came across as rude and abrupt in her manner. When my number was called, I stepped forward, but she told me to move away because the number after mine had been called. She then changed her mind and waved for me to come forward again. Before walking away from the desk, we helped ourselves to the site maps, as Angelica had not offered us any. She then shuffled the remaining leaflets neatly back into place, which gave the impression that we had made them untidy by taking one. She also asked for our mobile number. As I began to say the number aloud for her to enter into the database, she made a comment about me “not speaking British” and told me to write it down. I would have happily written it down had she asked me to do so in the first place. We were not given the option of choosing a pitch for our stay, nor were we provided with any information about the site or the tours. Motorhome Facilities The motorhome toilet waste disposal point is located in a very public area directly outside a guest’s glamping pod. This could easily be moved to a more secluded and appropriate location. Pool Area The pool area was extremely overcrowded, despite there being three pools. Two of the pools are intended for children; however, the larger third pool also allowed huge inflatables, ball games and children jumping in and out of the pool. As a result, there was nowhere for adults to enjoy a relaxing swim. The sun loungers and tables did not appear to be cleaned daily and often had dried food left on them. The children’s pool with the slide had a noticeable black ring of dirt around the outer edge. The foot-wash at the entrance to the pool area also contained stagnant, dirty water. Guests were not discouraged from leaving their belongings on sun loungers all day. Some guests appeared to go out for the day and leave their belongings from around 9am until 9pm. This resulted in very little, or no, choice of loungers for people arriving at the pool during the afternoon. Restaurant The restaurant experience was also disappointing. As well as serving food and collecting dirty plates, waiters were preparing desserts on a table next to a rubbish bin and using a microwave in the restaurant, all of which was clearly visible to guests. No member of staff asked how our meals were while we were dining. We were also not asked whether we required sauces, Parmesan or additional drinks during our meal. We eventually had to find these ourselves. The seafood platter and lasagne were very bland, while the pizzas consisted mainly of a very large outer crust. Despite numerous members of staff repeatedly passing our table near the kitchen service hatch, we eventually had to stack our plates and glasses after around 20 minutes in an attempt to attract someone’s attention. The manager then took them as she passed the table for what must have been the eighth time, without saying a word. It was also uncomfortable to witness the manager separating guests’ bread with her hands and then standing near the kitchen eating a piece. Overall, while there were some positive aspects to our stay, the lack of welcome, cleanliness, customer service and attention to detail significantly affected our experience.

Loved staying. Fantastic staff, beautiful location and excellent food.

Jul 2026

Liked We had a fantastic stay and would definitely return. From the moment we arrived, the whole experience was made special by the friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. **Sophie** at the main reception was always incredibly friendly and greeted us with a smile every day. Gaetano on main reception was also very accommodating and friendly. On arrival, guests are driven in a golf buggy to their pitch, which was a fantastic start to our experience. **Vanja** was definitely one of my favourite members of the brilliant Baia team.Throughout our stay, we enjoyed chatting with her at the bar and restaurant. She was always friendly and approachable. **Rita**, the manager, went out of her way to make a change to our reservation possible, which helped make our stay one we will never forget. We will definitely be returning. **Giorgio** was another lovely member of the team. He was always kind, friendly and smiling when greeting guests around the pool and restaurant. He also made every effort to accommodate my request for a particular tea, which was much appreciated. **Emanuel**, the chef, produced some fantastic food. The New Salsa ribs were amazing, the hamburgers were huge and delicious, and the homemade potato chips were excellent. The homemade carrot cake, fabulous pizzas, and bacon and scrambled eggs at breakfast were also all fantastic. Excellent food and great value\. One suggestion would be to have a few more of Emanuel’s cooked breakfast options available, as his food was so good\! **Marabella** at the lakeside bar made amazing cocktails and had a fantastic sense of humour. She was a pleasure to see during our stay. In fact, **all of the staff were approachable, friendly and happy to help with anything**, which really contributed to making our holiday so enjoyable. The shower and toilet facilities were also amazingly clean throughout the day, every day.

Disliked Although we had a fantastic stay, there are a few things that could make the experience even better: - The laundry facilities could be improved, as one of the washing machines was out of order during our stay\. - The chemical waste disposal point for motorhome toilets is located in a very small space and is quite visible to other visitors near the shower facilities\. It would be better if this could be screened or hidden\. - Although pitches are described as grass and hardstanding, our pitch was actually gravel\. It would be lovely to have a small grass area alongside the hardstanding\. - The pitch sizes were excellent and gave us plenty of space\. - A few more sun loungers around the pool would be beneficial, particularly during busy periods\. - The loungers could perhaps be cleaned or showered down each evening\. - There are currently no umbrellas around the pool, so there is very little shade\. Some shaded areas would be a welcome addition\. - Small tables beside the sun loungers would also be useful for drinks and personal belongings\. - It would be great if guests were allowed to take drinks from the pool bar to their loungers in plastic cups\. This would make things much more convenient for guests and could also encourage visitors to purchase more drinks from the bar\.

Poor facilities and overcrowding

May 2026

Liked Central location for local walking/hikes.

Disliked Over crowded with no organisation of campers. Very much a free for all and told by man on reception, you will find a space. Very difficult to find as only a very small Rowter Farm sign and an awkward turning into what is signed as a walking route. No mention of Campsite. Gate was also closed so had to get out of Motorhome to open at a blinded junction in the road.

Peaceful and relaxing stay close to town centre.

Jan 2025

Liked Well spaced out pitches that are very big. Includes all services on pitch. Easy to navigate arrival and instructions for pitch. Very nice cafe on site. Short drive to Nantwich Town Centre add other local attractions

Disliked Wasnt given choice of pitch as a number were vacant that were better positioned. Not much to do on the site

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for the great feedback. Regarding the choice of pitch, all the ones that were vacant that weekend were standard pitches and you booked for the premium.
